Some image files not showing in LR

Hey, wonder if you have any advice for my problem? I am experiencing a similar problem only, I recently updated PS (v20.0.2) and LR (v8.1) and now all of a sudden all my .tiff files are not showing in my LR library? I have tried turning off the filters, nothing. If I edit something in PS from LR (open in Photoshop) and save it in PS. Usually, it will be together with the original RAW file in PS. Now nothing? Searched my whole library and cannot find them. Want to import the tiff files and LR says it is already imported?

Please help if you can?

I've Branched your question as it doesn't pertain to the discussion you originally posted in.

Please give as much detail as possible.

Just updating LR and PS would not cause TIFF files to not appear in the LR catalog.

More than likely you have a Filter turned on that is not allowing the display of TIFF image that are already imported into the LR catalog file.

Go to the "All Photographs" link in the Catalog section of the left hand panel of the Library module. Then Look at the top of the center screen to see if the Filter bar is showing. If it isn't then hit the \ key to display it. Select Metadata and in the last column select File Type. Then select TIFF. Like this.

Do you see any TIFF images?

    Hey Just Shoot Me,

Thank you for your response. I went and did what you said up until the step for the selection of 'file type' - TIFF.  And all the TIFF files are showing. Thank you so much! now, how do I get them to show right next to the original file in their specific collections?

So I thought I'd try re-adding them to my collection, which it did, but now it makes it difficult to spot them as they no longer have that number in the corner saying 1of2 or 2of2.

Also when I choose a new image to edit in photoshop, edit it and save it in photoshop, it usually appears back in LR as a TIFF with the PS edits made with the number 1of 2 or 2 of 2 in the corner. But now It just does not, it completely disappears in my collection together with the original RAW copy, when I am in my collection in the Library module, searching for them both files are not there.

Do I have to go search for the image like you suggested and re-add it everytime?

    What does "not showing" mean?

Does it mean a gray rectangle where the photo thumbnail should be? Or does it mean the photo isn't present in your catalog anymore? Or something else?

    Hey dj_paige,

"Not showing" as in when I am in the Library module and inside the current collection searching for that specific image there aren't any tiff files. like missing in my catalog.
