My wife is a new independent photographer looking for a strong image editing application, along with setting up a website and allowing clients to easily access images. She had used the trial version of Lightroom Classic and was pleased with it. But upon looking at all that Adobe offered it looks like there was a variety of packages that may provide even more of what she needs. I was trying to find a place where I can get suggestions and ask questions about the options available. Such as the following questions that I have......

Is there a package that offers a website building/hosting service to aid her in getting a site going?

     If so, how easy is it to navigate for someone with limited technical expertise (does it have templates she can use as a starting point)?

Is there an option that provides space for storing photos?

Is there a feature for allowing users access to downloading photos for limited amounts of time (i.e. a DropBox type of feature)?

If there are packages that offer this, is the fee for them monthly, and if so can it be cancelled at any time if she is unhappy with the product?

Sorry for so many questions, but I can't find a sales team contact where I can ask this.

    Thanks Jim. She does need the ability to have a website so potential clients can view some of her previous work. If Adobe doesn't offer a way to do that, that is OK I've found other ways to do so. I just didn't want to use something else if Adobe already offered everything I needed. As far as the creation of a collection and sharing it, can you link me any documentation that details how that can be accomplished? Also, she needs to imprint a logo on some of her pictures. I've been able to accomplish this with a combination of external free tools, but can Lightroom Classic do that (if so, I'd prefer to use it)? Thanks again.

    I am a rather simple person. When I want to share images with others I use the Lightroom Classic CC simplified method. I create a collection and choose to share that collection. After the collection is created I click on this little "icon" to the left of the collection name, and that collection is shared on Lightroom.adobe.com:

    I can then go to that website and find that collection and create a link that I can send to anyone I choose. Those to whom I send that link are able to see those images, and if I choose they are able to download those images. Now this isn't really a "website" that can be customized. When someone receives a link they are able to simply see the images and look at them, play a slideshow, download them (if allowed), and make comments.

    If you want more than that then you can use the web module in Lightroom Classic CC to create a webpage. But then you would need to have a web host where you could post that webpage. I can't give you any more information about that because I have never done it and don't know any more about it than that. If you go on to YouTube, I'm sure you could find some tutorials illustrating how to do it.

    Lightroom has a feature called watermarking. I have done text watermarks. It's possible to do graphic watermarks as well, but again this is an area that I have not explored. It's just something I haven't been interested in. I'm older and just haven't had the interest to pursue some of these extra features. Hopefully, someone better trained in these features will provide you with more information.

    Lightroom Classic CC, by itself, has basic capability to share collections of images with anyone. You have complete control over what is shared, and to whom it is shared with. If you want a more customized website then you might want to study further. I apologize that I cannot give you all the information that you are looking for.

    Thanks Tony, but I thought Adobe offered options for doing the website creation/hosting/image sharing. When looking up Lightroom purchases I thought I saw packages that offered these capabilities and was wanting clarification on which package may be the best for my wife's situation. Does Adobe not offer something that would do everything that she needs? Thanks again.

    With Lightroom Classic CC it's possible to create a collection and share it without even creating a website. And that collection can be shared with others. That collection can be allowed to be downloaded if desired, and is fully controlled by the user. Does your wife need something more than that?

    I would make two suggestions here . . .

    While there are several "third party" providers for the reasons you state above, I have heard that 500px.com is OK for both portfolio creation and image marketing is robust. They are also about to move to use Getty Images for the 2nd part of their provider service I believe, if that suits.

    And then theres Wordpress . . .

    Excellent free templates, customisation abilities and a plethora of reliable plugins for free.

    Many ISP's offer support for this with easy installation and access.

    Have you considered the later?
