Scenario: I have LR set up on my desktop just like I want it. (Windows 10) I have some user presets, import presets, custom apprearance, purchased develop presets. I bought a new laptop and installed LR. Now I want to recreate what I have on the desktop. (no images or catalog ) just appearance and functionality. I've tried all I have found on the net and no go.
If someone knows how, please send me fool proof (not that I'm a fool, LOL) a step-by-step outline how to do it.
Thanks, John

The preferences file is named Lightroom Classic CC 7 Preferences.agprefs and is located here on Windows:
C:\Users\Your user name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences
Assuming that your laptop also runs Windows, you can copy it over.
For all I know, the preferences file may contain things that may cause problems when copying it to a different computer.
And if all file paths (like to the catalog) aren't exactly the same on both computers, you'll get error messages.
The LR preferences aren't very extensive, and it shouldn't take very long to enter the settings manually.
User Develop presets are located here, and be copied over.
C:\Users\Your user name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\Settings\User Presets
Import presets seem to be located here: (I don't have any)
C:\Users\Your user name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Import Presets\User Presets
