Why can't I select relative rendering intent with an ICC profile?

I'm trying to get a handle on relative vs perpetual rendering intents and want to print a picture using each intent to compare with the associated soft proofs. However, almost randomly, I either have the option to only choose Perpectual (Photo) or No Colour Correction, or no choice (greyed out showing Perpectual (Photo). I never see the option to choose relative. I'm definetly using the Canon (Pro 200) drivers, not Airprint.

The screenshot shows the greyed out option, I have seen the two options presented several times in the past 10 minutes but can't reproduce for a screenshot.

MacOS 15.0.1 (24A348), Lightroom Classic 14.0.1

That is the MacOS printer driver dialog. You cannot choose the intent here, because Lightroom Classic is already taking care of that (see on the right). The printer driver won't do any color conversion.

Johan,

Oh yeah 🤦 What threw me off was that I can change it sometimes but only to Perceptual. I've printed two copies off using relative and perpetual from those LR buttons and I can't see any difference in poor light. I'll recheck tomorrow in daylight.

Thank you!
