Question

working on 2 images with same name

somebody else pick the incorrect answer so posting again

LR6 see 2 photos with the same name and will not import the image.

When I do a spotlight search for the image name there is only 1 photo with that name.

I also have checked other images in LR6 to see if maybe that is why it will not sync (import) because another photo has the same name.  No the is not the problem because on the hard drive there is only 1 file name.

Question:

Why does Lightroom see both file names when there is only one?

Thanks,

JC

As follow-on to dj_paige's comment, you can search the catalog for the file using the Filter Bar (tap '\ ' key not visible) at top of Library grid (see below screenshot for example. However, before enabling the filter bar/search, make sure that you have selected 'All Photographs' in Catalog panel directly below the Navigator window on left side of interface.

Did you search the entire Lightroom Classic library or just one folder? You need to search the entire Lightroom Classic library.

Often, the exact same file with the same name has been imported into a different folder (most likely because you have previously accidentally imported the photo using COPY not ADD), and that is why Lightroom Classic won't import the photo.
