P: Amount slider in Color Grading panel

Hi Folks
Hopefully a simple feature request here but how about adding a 'Strength / Amount' slider to the Color Grading Panel in both Lightroom Classic and Lightroom CC just has been added recently for Presets?

The current workaround means Color Grading then creating a preset storing only the Color Grading adjustments. Then ... resetting the Color Grading and then applying the Preset, to then use the Amount Slider.

The Color Grading can obviously be reduced by adjusting each of the Color Wheels equally but to be able to contro the overal effect with an 'Amount / Strength' slider would be very welcome.

Just a thought ... thanks

I watched a few videos on the idea of adding an amount slider on the color grading portion of LRC.  Personally this is a great idea that would make my portrait work easier in many ways.

Please consider adding.

Great products BTW... Love using it and the changes recently added, but consider the amount slider being added to the color grading area.

Thank you

Dear Adobe,

I've been working on the latest version of Lightroom and Photoshop since it was released on Mac OS 12. One thing I wish you had included is an amount slider in the Color Grading Tool like you have in many other places.

Thanks,

Fernando Sanchez Magrane

Apologiers Rikk ... I've amended the detail in the video so that folks upvote from now on as opposed to cast a new request.

Hope this helps

Again...apologies...certainly didn't want to cause any unneccessary admin for you.
Hopefully now folks will see now in the video description and link that just an upvote is sufficient.

Thanks again for your patience

It would be much better to have 3 separate Sliders:

1. Amount

2. All Saturation(s)

3. All Luminance(s)

The Amount Slider in our Presets simply multiplies the "active" Saturation(s) and Luminance(s) but it is not the best way to work, it's too simplistic for Color Grading.

In many cases I want to increase/decrease all the current Saturation(s) but not he Luminance(s) or vice versa so having an "Amount" slider that affects both is bad.

In other case I would wan to change both at the same time and thus I would use "Amount"...this is when the slider is good.

So having 3 sliders is better.

@Rikk Flohr: Photography

Sorry if I say it but this thread is a mess...not your fault!

This suggestion presents many difficulties and Amount will not work as with Color Grading Presets.

Color Grading Saturation and Luminance can never go beyond +/- 100  unlike other settings.

Amount Slider works for Color grading Presets because it takes the values of the presets (values that are fixed, not changeable) and multiples those values BUT the same would not work for the Color grading Panel.

Let's look at Color Grading if the FR was applied as asked as it is now.

Current CG settings.

Shadows Hue 240

Shadows Saturation 50

Shadows Luminance 0

Blending 50

Balance 0

All other inactive.

Now let's change Amount to + 200 and we get this:

Shadows Hue 240

Shadows Saturation 100

Shadows Luminance 0

Blending 50

Balance 0

Now let's change saturation for Shadows to 90.

What now!?

Amount is still at 200, is maxed out and we can't go further, it's not like for Presets.

Let's change "Highlights" now.

Highlights Hue 33

Highlights Saturation 50

Highlights Luminance +33

Blending and Balance stay the same.

Amount is still maxed out is at 200!

If the user wants to change these values, conveniently all together, he/she can't do it anymore as Amout has reached its maximum potential.

There is no way to increase the newly added "Highlights Saturation" and "Highlights Luminance" now with Amount at 200!

What does the author @glyndewis propose as solution to this?

@warm_FireballB84A, be sure to click Upvote in the upper-right corner of that Idea thread, to make it a little more likely Adobe will consider implementing it.

Color Grading adjustments include - Hue, Saturation, Luminance.

Can't you achieve "Amount" with these controls?

@Rob_Cullen

Having sliders that change all Saturation(s) and Luminance (s) would be faster than change each individually.

But as I showed in my example there is a design challenge if such sliders were to exist for the Color Grading Panel.
