P: Provide a better Ken Burns effect capability in slideshows

why is Adobe incapable or unwilling to implement a more powerful Ken Burns effect feature set in Lightroom slideshows?

It seems incredibly simple to do with the resources Adobe posesses,

I firmly believe that the Ken Burns effect is one of the most powerful and evocative tools in a slide show presentation. The current implementation of this in LIghtroom feature is laughably limited.

Common Adobe! you can do better - Apple's Aperture had a far superior Ken Burns capability some 10 years ago.

I fully agree. Especially the ever same speed throughout the whole show, not slowing down when approaching the end of a slide, no way to make it pause for a customizeable time to take in the whole picture - these global adjustments alone would greatly improve the show and bring Adobe up to par with other programs.

and ability to select starting and ending frame areas for the effect for each slide (so can also choose zooming in or out)

there are plenty of other Ken Burns related features that woudl make the slide shows really cool - but can be left for future

as it is, without an effective Ken Burns effect I simply stopped doing slide shows in Lightroom - use FotoMagico - but that is just an added hassle (and cost) for simple slide shows

one of the most important effects in any visual presentation involving still images is the Ken Burns effect? why doesn't Lightroom have that? and when will it get it?

The slideshow ability in LR is quite limited.  Before switching to LR Classic CC and PS CC I used Aperture on my Macs - it was great but is no longer supported by Apple.  Now I use LR and PS to organize, develop, select, and add special effects to my photos, THEN I export the pics as Hi-Def jpegs, import them into Aperture, and build a great slideshow.

Adobe should look at the slideshow and book making capabilities in Aperture and iPhoto; it woe uld be wonderful if LR would have those features.

Slideshow module suggested improvements: 1) face recognition so the pan/zoom moves the picture towards the faces - not towards the floor, 2) Saved titles should be listed in alpha order - not chronological order, 3) Saved titles used in a slideshow should be saved with the overall saved slideshow - they're not. Thanks for considering!

I'm quite shocked that you added Pan and zoom with no control over WHERE this pan and zooming takes place! Its like its only half finished. Over 10 years ago I had this control in Microsoft's free Photo-story tool.

I'd like to be able to set start and stop positions for pan and zoom. Also, be able to set the time for transition to control for a slow/fast pan.

Since these are basic features (and not a new concept by any means) I'd expect these fixes to be added to the standalone version of LR6 as well.

It is time Adobe did something smart and enhanced the pitifully useless current Ken Burns (pan, tilt) effect in its slide show creation of Lightroom Classic.

Simple addition of resizable and re-positionable start/end frames with flexible timing, customizable per image, would do wonders to enhancing the slide show capabilities of Lightroom Classic. The current pan/zoom capability is woefully inadequate and simply stupid.

Without an enhanced Ken Burns effect the slide show feature is completely inadequate for any professional presentation.

Can't believe Adobe has been unable to move on this after years of user feedback requesting this. Don't they have the technical talent to implement something as simple as this?

I'd like to see a simple way to burn a slide show with sound (in multiple formats) and Ken Burns pans and zooms to a DVD. I would also like to see more sophisticated tools and options within Lightroom that will save time creating high quality custom slide shows that can be easily and simply burned to a DVD to share.

It would be nice to be able to select the start and finish points to a Ken Burns effect in the slideshow module within Lightroom.

It's 2021 and I still use Photoshop Elements version 10 for it's full control over pan and zoom.

hello,

Can Adobe improve the pan and zoom feature under lightroom classic for win10 to be able to select left to right, bottom to top... modes as well as start and end windows as we find in simple imovie for mac ?

I use premiere pro for that "KEN BURNS" effect but it is time consuming to export jpg from lightroom, create a project in premiere, import images, add to time line, add cross-fade transitions, specifiy the keyframes, position and scale,...

Lightroom is so nice already, just one click ! just need small improvements to be perfect !

Best regards

Marc
