P: Unused GPU drivers as out of date dialog - add [Do not show again] option

Looks as some members with dedicated graphics controllers and naturally integrated video controllers are receiving system compatibility reports about out of date drivers for the integrated video control, that on their systems are not used by Lightroom Classic.

They are finding that unhelpful and annoying.

Ahh, and now moved to Ideas. Ok. Treat as not a bug, apparently as designed, so treat as an Idea, a request for change.

Obwohl ich für Lightroom die Geforce GTX 1050 verwende - sie ist sowohl in Lightroom als auch unter Windows für LR aktiviert bzw. zugeordnet - wird seit Version 11.5 mit jedem Start die ebenfalls eingebaute Intel HD Graphics 630 von Lightroom als fehlerhaft bemängelt. Das Problem ist: bei dem Intel Treiber handelt es sich um eine auf Acer angepasste Version, für die es (derzeit) keine aktuellere Variante gibt.

Welche Auswirkungen hat diese Fehlermeldung? Kann diese problemlos abgestellt werden und wie?

As of 11.5 (Windows), Lightroom Classic reports a compatibility problem with my display adapter

There are several issues with this:

1. I have 2 diplay cards, and the HD Graphics 4600 is not selected in Preferences > Performance for GPU use in Lightroom
2. I have installed the latest driver as per Adobe's support links and it makes no difference. 
3. The version comparison does not seem valid. The dialog says I have driver version 20.19.15.5171 and compares it to version 100.8476 or later. As far as I can tell, the latter version is not based on the versioning system Intel uses for its display adapters.
4.  Unlike other alerts in Lightroom, I cannot choose to accept this issue and suppress the warning going forward. It pops up every time I launch Lightroom, which is annoying and pointless. Most alerts in Lightroom have an option to not display the alert in the future, and this one should also. I have reverted to version 11.4.1 for now and ignore the Lightroom updates messages for LR Classic

.. Bisher habe ich die Systemnachricht über den "fehlerhaften" Grafiktreiber auch regelmäßig weggeklickt. Eine Lösung ist dies jedoch nicht. Bin auf eine ältere LR Version zurückgegangen und warte auf die Fehlerbehebung.

I am using Lightroom Classic 11.5. 

OS = Windows 10 64 Bit Build 19044

I have added some more technical details from "System Info" of Lightroom at the bottom.

Problem description:

My PC has 2 graphic cards, one is built-in Intel HD Grphics 4000 and one is Nvidia Geforce GT1030. The lattest one is configured in Lightroom to be used as graphics processor. Actually, this Nvidia card is the main one, the monitors are connected there. The Intel is not in use.

Each time I start Lightroom, it shows me the following warning:

The point is that I am not able to find any drivers from Intel that would fulfil the requirement. An Intel-utility confirms that my drivers are up-to-date. There is just no update from the manufacturer. 

I expect that Lightroom recognizes such situations and let me in peace with my Nvidia card, allowing me to disable the warning to appear again and again.

There are more voices about this particular issue. Some people have returned to v11.4 to avoid this annoying dialog.

Please treat this as a bug and provide a resolution.

Lieber Admin,

da die seit Lightroom Classic Vers. 11.5 existierende unsinnige Meldung über das notwendige Update zu einem inaktiven GPU Treiber von vielen Usern bemängelten wird, wäre es angebracht dieses Thema von "Idee" (siehe Betreff) auf "Fehler" zu verschieben und vor allem kurzfristig zu beheben.

Bis dahin werde ich - wie andere User auch - auf Ver, 11.4 zurückgehen.

Since my LRC 11.5 update i keep getting a pop-up message with a "Lightroom System Compatibility Report" when I start the programme.

It suggests that a Onboard GPU driver may be causing problems with video material. However, my drivers are all up to date and I can't update to the driver suggested by LR (system out of date). Does anyone know how to disable the "Lightroom System Compatibility Report"? It's really annoying to have to work through this message every time I start up.

Also, since the update to 11.5, the watermark graphics are no longer exported with the image. Only text watermarks are exported.

It must have something to do with the last update. As soon as you go back to 11.41, everything works back as usual.

After a recent update (couple of months ago), the moment I open Lightroom classic an annoying message appears on my screen. It tells me that I should update my Intel HD Graphics 4000 driver to avoid performance issues with video files. Since updating is impossible due to hardware incompatibilities (older Intel i7 laptop) and I don't do anything with video (not interested) I don't see any reason to follow this suggestion, but it keeps on popping up.
I have removed all video files from my library and Lightroom directories, but Lightroom persists in telling me I should update my driver to avois problems with video files. I really hate this behaviour, and am thinking of switching to another postprocessing program, since in contrast to Adobe's claims there are alternatives to Lightroom. But I am not excluding the possibility that I have overseen an option to prevent these irritating messages from popping up, and would like to hear a solution before bidding farewell to Adobe.

It's not just video files. The message also warns for instability. It does not seem you can dismiss it forever. Maybe if you turn off the use of the GPU in Preferences - Performance, although Lightroom may have already switched that off.

As Johan already said, for an older internal GPU like the HD4000 it might be best to turn it off.

This is the message - but I have switched of GPU support, and according to Lightroom my GPU is a NVIDIA 610. I have installed the driver mentioned above, to no effect. Trying to install the latest Intel HD 4000 driver results in a message that my hardware is too old to support this driver. Looks as if my Lightroom days are numbered, I'll be d....d if I allow a softweare supplier to command what computer I should buy. Unless said supplier pays for it, of course...

For those wanting to exit Adobe over this, and I am not Adobe, if you have a dedicated GPU, and LrC is using it, as opposed to just a integrated video control, then this message is just annoying and meaningless. It is referring to the integrated video control most computers have on the motherboard, if you have an additional GPU on the motherboard, or a GPU card in the computer, then not an issue. If you have just a integrated video control, like on a cheap laptop, notebook, all in one, then an issue.

So chill out. I posted this due to the huge numbers of complaints not answered by Adobe. Posted it as a bug, some one, a moderator or Admin, moved it to Discussion, later to Ideas, with no conversation as to doing so. In my mind this is a bug, as in a bad decision and a design error. LrC should be able to know that a GPU is in use and to care less about the antiquated video control.

One thing I did not notice, but in plain sight, the message does mention videos, but does LrC use the integrated video control over the dedicated GPU? I think not.

In my case I have the integrated video control turned off in my BIOS, so no application sees it. (no I have not inspected it)

One group for who this is a huge issue sre those users with old laptops with only an integrated video control, where no device driver update is available. They have a heavy existence in posting(s) about AI Sky masking, an example of where an outdated integrated video control has them in a big hurt.

Checked again. The version shown in the screen above is the latest for HD4000.

This is absolutely a bug and not a feature working as intended. It's complaining about an integrated graphics driver that is not in use. Given that version 11.5 is prone to crashing moreso than 11.4 was, I suspect this is not the only place that this version is interacting with the unused graphics driver, despite the correct driver showing up in Help->System Info->Graphics Processor Info. At best, if this is unrelated to the recent crashes, it's a pretty big annoyance every time you open Lightroom, and if it is related to the crashing, it's pretty significant especially for those of us with Intel chips prior to Skylake but with more recent dedicated GPUs.
