After last update (blur effect) I can't render after edit pictures on my iPhone 12 pro max. Any thoughts?!

Just an observation:

1. Letting the 'stuck render' run for a bit (about 2-3 minutes in my case, though, might be faster...) then

2. Pressing the share button, allowing it a few seconds, it will 'render' the image and sharing to apps works

3. If step 1 is not performed, this doesnt work, it gets stuck too

Just sharing this in case anyone uses LR for socials update, this could be a quick workaround for image generation. I did not A/B on image quality and other differences

Another observation:
The 'stuck render' situation happens sometimes while in HDR edit mode with blur at 0 (note: blur was previously activated - previously not 0). So, bringing blur to 0, on some images, 'stuck render' situation would go away but not all

When exporting images from Lightroom in iPad, the rendering is stuck at 50% and photo won't export. I've been using Lightroom for 3 years and this is the first time for this glitch

any help would be appreciated

Hi @Karen33013198ihsw  et All

Thanks to the notes here, we found a reliable test image and steps to reproduce, and are consulting with the Dev staff on this.  The team had found and logged this issue during beta testing, but previously believed only large panoramic images may be affected.  Investigation to see what further optimizations on mobile are possible will take some time.

The work-around I currently suggest for LrMobile users is to sign into your account at https://lightroom.adobe.com/ and export the image from this web app.  Why?  This will let the robust server CPUs do the image processing.

I am not able to replicate this failure with the instructions provided. On my S10 it takes about 40 seconds for a Canon 5DMKIV File synced Cloud to Phone with the edits as you've described to Export As. Note that I am on a fast WIFI connection and that Cellular may take longer.

For Save to Device it takes a little less.

Are you wifi or cellular when you are making this attempt?

After the recent update (blur & HDR) - all photos cannot be exported

Initally after updating, all photo exporting works fine.

After a day of using and currently, all photos cant be exported. It's stuck at "exporting photo - preparing, with the spinning circle going around for up to 15 minutes, which is when I stopped. Before the update, an export only takes a matter of seconds.

Btw, DNG export works but the quality seems horrible / some processing is skipped. The app is not usable in this condition.

I've uninstalled, restarted, wipe data and cache etc, nope. Is there a link to the old APK that can be used in the meantime?

After you edit an image, are you staying in Device view?  That is a view of your camera roll.  If you switch over to the Edits or Lightroom tab, and switch to the album My Edits, do you see your edits there?

Actually after all that edit when open the my edit looking like original picture. But when open that picture you see edit version. It's really weird. This is start after last update. Something wrong.

I hope somebody seen this conversation from Adobe team. Because this problem getting annoying.

Hello @Kaan32908751y04b

Thanks for the screen image -- it helped clarify that you are having a problem with export.

I tried exporting my own iPhone 12 Pro Max images with Lens Blur, using DNG or JPG original images from the native camera.  Even when I apply other edits like enabling HDR, my device completes the export.

@Kaan32908751y04b , @Aaliyah32911256zlc5
We need more info, clear steps showing what kinds of files are being edited, what edits are being applied, etc to help us reproduce the problem so that developers can debug and fix the issue.

  • What iOS version are you using?
  • @Aaliyah32911256zlc5 , what device are you using?
  • What is the camera maker and file format of your origina images?  Are they 12 megapixel Raw/DNG images from your iPhone, or some other kinds of image from a DSLR camera?
  • What specific edits are you applying to your image?  Only Lens Blur, or other edits too?
  • Is the original image on your camera roll, in Device view?  Or is the image a "Smart Preview" that is synced to your device from Lightroom cloud storage?  (if you open the image and tap the cloud icon, does it say Smart Preview or Original?)
  • Does it help to totally exit ("force quit") Lightroom, and relaunch?
  • If you can record and share a screen video, that may also help us understand the problem.  How to: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207935

Really, it would help if you can share as much detail as possible.  Thank you!
