P: (macOS) Lightroom Vignette disappears after opening another photo

Lightroom forgets my vignette settings when I set one, close the photo and open it again. It shows the correct edit for a short time and then sets the vignette back to 0.

I'm using version 6.1 from the Mac App Store. The bug is reproducible and happens all the time on all of my photos. It doesn't matter if the photo is currently being synced or not.

This is reproducible at our end too. Changing status.

Hi there,

I'm running into the same issue as @electerious .

Applying the vignette via preset or manually then toggeling between pictures. Sometimes the vignette stays and sometimes it just resets to 0. Very annoying.

I have had this issue for months and it is extremely annoying. Perhaps time to consider a move to CaptureOne?

Exact same thing here, lastest versions of everything (macOS 13.4.1, Lighroom 6.1 via Creative Cloud). I have to quit LR and restart before reediting the photo on which I have added a vignetting effect.

Also having the same issue here when using the \ key to toggle my edits. The vignette falls off. Really frustrating as its seemingly at random

Workaround (Admittedly very bad)

1) Apply edits to photo

2) Sync to cloud
3) Open Photos on mobile and apply vignettes
4) Sync to cloud

5) Re-open on Desktop, vignette should persist.

Disclaimer - This is far from ideal and is still not really a viable workaround for such an ongoing issue.

Ok guys, so fingers crossed but i went into Adobe Creative Cloud and downgraded from Lightroom 6.5 to 6.4 (go to "apps" Lightroom should be listed in your downloaded apps. Hit the 3 dots to the far right, select "other versions". It will give you the option to install older versions). So far it seems stable..

Still waiting for a solution. For nine months. NINE! This bug is extremely annoying and it is almost impossible to use the Mac version without going insane.

This goes back all the way to version 6.1 (oldest version i tested and tested on different cpu) not sure how they haven't figured it out as it makes the program unusable for anyone with a keen eye. I spent 4h yesterday trying to rectify the problem instead of working on projects. I guess i never noticed it before because up until recently I only used LrC and mobile. Looks like i will have to transfer my catelog from my old cpu to my new (pain enough as it is) and get back on LrC

Where are you at with fixing this? Still a major issue for me and others it seems.

It's been over a year that I've been dealing with this issue, and it's beyond frustrating at this point.  For me, it always happens when I toggle the "show original" button, to view my before/after edits.  But it also sometimes happens when I copy and paste the edit settings from one photo to another, or simply view another photo.

The only time it doesn't happen, is when I initially open LR and am just viewing photos that I've edited previously.  But as soon as I change any of the edits, it happens.  I also thought that maybe it was a corruption in my presets - they're simply presets that I've created myself, but interestingly, if I don't use my presets, and just start editing a photo from scratch in a new LR session, the vignette seems to stay stable, even when I toggle the "show original" button.  So I tried creating new presets from scratch, hopeful that would solve it, but it didn't.  I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this same thing and has figured out a solution.
