I am trying to add photos to edit but each time I try to upload the photos, the app crashes (both on samsung phone and tablet)

Is there a fix for this bug? I need to edit over 800 photos..!

Hey, @Vickylou78. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll need more info to help you figure this out. Has this started recently? What version of Lightroom & the Android OS are you working on?

Try these suggestions and let me know how it goes:

  • You can log on to Lightroom Web (https://lightroom.adobe.com) & check if everything has been synced to the cloud.
  • Click on the Cloud icon when Lightroom opens and pause the sync.
  • Keep the device in Flight mode and launch Lightroom.
  • Uninstall & reinstall the app from the app store.
  • If the app was installed from the Google Play Store, try installing Lightroom from the Samsung Galaxy store or the opposite.

Thanks!

To fix the issue of the app crashing when uploading photos for editing on your Samsung phone and tablet: Update the app to the latest version. Ensure sufficient device storage. Clear the app's cache. Verify compatibility with your device's OS. Check and grant necessary app permissions. Consider reducing image sizes. Contact the app's support or developer for assistance. Use an alternative photo editing app if needed while troubleshooting.

Hi. Thanks for the advice but I think I speak for most who are having this issue that the 'fix's' you suggested do not work, or if they do it's temporary. I for one have tried these several times. I've never had to reduce the image size previously, shoot in jpeg, have 89gb storage avail on my device - never had storage issues before, even worked with less than 10gb available!  I have version v10.2.1 of LR, downloaded from Samsung store, 'Lightroom for Samsung', I have also downloaded from Playstore both have the same issues. May I suggest you escalate this to a higher level as I am personally sick of no 'real' fix being offered by Adobe, this has been going on for over 2 years!!!

I started experiencing similar issues (the app crashes, or shows a perpetually spinning loading wheel) within the past few days when I try to select a photo to edit. I've tried the solutions provided that seemed to address previous problems, but with no success. I've updated the app, cleared the cache, uninstalled and reinstalled through both the Play and Galaxy stores, and the same issues still manifest.

Same. Every now and then while editing a photo the app just crash and close down. The photo I was busy editing didn't save.

I have the latest version as it is on auto update, and I have a Redmi note 13 pro with the latest android version.

I am sure this is a bug and Adobe must sort it out ASAP because I am paying monthly for this app and it is not fair if the app is not stable

Hi Sameer,

Thanks so much for your reply. I was resorting to unistalling the app, so when I saw your response to say try installing on another play store, I did just that. I found I could install Lightroom for Samsung, so I've done that too.

It has worked so far and I am now in the process of uploading 800+ photos, finally!

Thanks for your suggestions!
