HDR Preservation after export

New Here ,
Apr 12, 2025 Apr 12, 2025

Hi everyone,

I’m editing HDR photos in Lightroom on my iPhone 15 Pro. The images look great on my phone, but when I export them and import them into CapCut, the HDR effects seem to disappear. Has anyone successfully maintained the HDR look in this workflow? Are there specific export settings or file formats that work best to preserve these effects for further editing in apps like CapCut?

Thanks in advance for your help!

HDR is still catching on.  Adobe has worked with Apple, Google, and other industry partners to develop the HDR standard used for Lightroom editing and image export with HDR enabled.

I can't speak for the app you mentioned, but would look for more info to see how well it supports current HDR standards.

Hi,

Try HEIC or JPEG exports with tone-mapped edits. Avoid relying on CapCut to read HDR metadata correctly. Consider flattening your HDR look into SDR manually in Lightroom before exporting.
