IOS User cannot save photo from shared album to device

I am a photographer and I use Lightroom CC for most of my photo retouching. From my mobile device (an Android tablet) I then share an album with my client. I was just notified by my most recent client that he was unable to save photos from the shared album to his iPhone. I then borrowed previous client's iPhone to test this (I'm an Android phone user). This client previously saved photos from the link I sent them from my tablet's Lightroom CC app. Neither of us was able to figure out how to save a photo from the shared album.

What am I missing?

    I don't/can't use a smart phone (I know, don't ask) so I don't really understand them. When I want to share an album I go to Lightroom.adobe.com. In the share options there is a checkbox to allow downloads and there is a place to click to obtain a link to share. Are there features like that on your phone, and did you use those options?
