Lightroom edits not showing up after sharing

I am a photo editer and a client sent me a gallery in lightroom through dropbox. I see her edits and synced the rest of the photos. All photos are edited to me. I send back to her and she can't see my edits only hers.. The smart previews file is there but the helper data file is not there? How can I get this back and save my edits? or is there a different problem?

"client sent me a gallery in lightroom"

I presume you mean a CATALOG exporeted from LIGHTROOM-CLASSIC

"synced the rest of the photos"

Do not know what you mean by this!  A LrC Catalog should have the accompanying Smart Previews provided. No syncing involved.

    "I send back to her..."

What do you send back?  The CATALOG file? *

"..and she can't see my edits only hers."

And is she opening the catalog you send back?

Is she opening her own catalog and doing [Import from another Catalog] to merge YOUR edits in HER catalog?

"The smart previews file is there...."

There is no need to return Smart Previews. Only the CATALOG * needs to be returned to the Client.

"...but the helper data file is not there..."

That is not needed to return either.

*Any Masking done would require also returning the file ending with  .LRCAT-DATA
