Lightroom having trouble connecting to the server

I am trying to open my lightroom now for past 6 hours... it is driving me up the wall. It is giving me the following error 'Can't connect to the server' + 'Lightroom is having trouble connecting to the server. Please try again later.' And then I get 'sign out' or 'on' option upon clicking ok app shuts down.

I tried everything! Even upgraded my cloud storage... all in vain. Reinstalled, teoubleshoot through WIN+R with %TEMP% command. I did EVERYTHING ever mentioned. Anyone who had this issue and was able to fix it please please please help! I have a shoot tomorrow and can not access light room... and I wasted entire day trying to troubleshoot! I'm on windows 11 btw!

I am also having this problem. Has anyone of you managed to come up with anything? I'm out of ideas and I'm starting to look for other photo editing programs.

I am also having this problem. I have tried all I can to trouble shoot, with no luck, including the suggestions on this thread.

The kicker is I can access my Lightroom on Mobile (IPad), Web, but not using the desktop application. I can also access the Adobe Lightroom desktop app on my home PC, but not my work PC.

I'm experiencing the same problem connecting to the server. Were you able to resolve the issue?

There have been no outages reported this week, and I've not seen any customer reports of this beyond your report. This leads me to believe you have a local connective issue.  New or updated firewall, perhaps?

Absolutely no new changes in firewall or security. Everything is running and everysingle other app is working EXCEPT LIGHTROOM!

So you are telling me that this is the end of the road for me with adobe?

I tried everything...

With a lack of similar reports and no known outages, it is probably time to revert to basic troubleshooting as the problem appears to be specific to your installation.

Likely culprits to review include:

  1.  Firewall settings (have you disabled the firewall for test purposes? does the software respond then?)
  2.  Anti-virus settings (temporarily disable any antivirus software and see if the software responds)
  3.  Router/Modem/ISP settings that might interfere with Lightroom's ability to connect?

If you have reviewed those and are unable to locate a problem, a reinstall and a preference file reset are good diagnostic steps to ensure you don't have a bad install in the mix.  In this order, reset preferences, check Lightroom, then reinstall if not fixed.

This procedure works for both Lightroom Classic and Lightroom Desktop.

If you are using Lightroom Desktop it can change the location of your local storage. Please review this setting after resetting preferences.

Reset Procedure:

1. Close Lightroom.

2. Hold down [Alt/Opt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.

3. Overwrite the Preferences when prompted by the dialog.

4. Close Lightroom.

5. Restart Lightroom.

Clean Lightroom Install Procedure

Close Lightroom

Restart the computer

Use the Adobe Creative Cloud App to uninstall Lightroom

Restart the computer

Install Lightroom via the Creative Cloud App without launching any other programs.

Restart the computer

Launch Lightroom

Wait 5 minutes
