P: Lightroom on Android crashes on Pixel devices

Explorer ,
Jul 25, 2025 Jul 25, 2025

I have a pixel 9 Pro XL and every time I open Lightroom it either crashes or I can open a single picture and then I get the circle and then the app either freezes or crashes again.

I have updated Android and tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Lightroom app several times. I have cleared the cache and storage and the same thing happens.

This has been happening for weeks I was hoping an update would fix it.

Hey everyone,

Quick update: If you're experiencing this issue, please ensure your phone’s operating system is fully up to date. If that doesn’t resolve the problem, you may want to try resetting your phone to factory settings. I know that can be inconvenient, but it has helped some users.

Had this issue for a month used Lightroom and cloud storage for years have 15k pictures going back 10+ years... Couldn't wait any longer.. took a full backup of my new pixel 9 and reset it to factory reset and recovered it from latest backup now Lightroom works again..

I moved apps from a Oneplus to my pixel could maybe be settings from Oneplus that that pixel didn't like which caused this issue. But just a hunch

Erase all data (factory reset) did help in my case, too. Pixel 8 Pro. LR works now.

Device: Pixel 8 Pro
Android Version: Android 16
Build Number: BP3A.251005.004.B2
Lightroom Mobile Version: 11.0.1

Bug Summary:
Unable to open ANY photo/ inside Lightroom Mobile. When a photo is tapped to edit, it stays on infinite loading spinner and never loads into the editing panel.(Even when i try to open the settings in Lightroom app it crashes).

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Open Lightroom Mobile

2. Go to any album / All Photos

3. Tap any image

4. Lightroom stays stuck on loading screen indefinitely

Expected Result:
Photo should open instantly for editing.

Actual Result:
Photo never loads → Lightroom is stuck forever at loading and cannot edit anything.

Troubleshooting done (none of these fix):

Cleared LR cache

Reinstalled LR clean multiple times

Reset permissions to Full photos access

Disabled Google Photos backup

Tried accessing via Files app → share to LR

Disabled “copy originals to LR storage”

Tried older LR database reset

I have attached the secreen recording of the bug. Its alreay now more than 1 month since i got my pixel 8 pro i was plannning to buy the premium version for lightroom but this bug is not letting me.

A month ago, I had reported this same issue of the app not working on my Google pixel 8 pro. Earlier also i had mentioned that I had an active subscription, so atleast freeze my subscription untill this solves. But that was not done, wasted my money for subscribing and since the app is not working untill now, I almost forgot that Lightroom existed and forgot to unsubscribe.

Now the payment for this month was deducted. Its so frustrating that nothing has changed about the error, but the subscription is working so perfectly to detect the money on time. If there is some way to refund the money please help.
