I read that the latest version of LR CC has the ability to open the RAW files from the Sony A7iii. I updated my LR through the Adobe link....I now have LightRomm CC 2015.4, but this does not open my RAW files from my new Sony A7iii camera. What to do?

Lightroom CC 2015.4 is nowhere near up to date. The last update for 2015 was CC 2015.14 (You're 10 updates behind on Lightroom CC 2015). However, the latest is Lightroom Classic CC, and it has had three updates. The latest update is Lightroom Classic CC 7.3. I think THAT is the version needed to have support for your camera. You are about a year behind in updates and upgrades.

I have the latest update of LRCC and the latest update of Mac OS and I cannot preview raw files from my Sony A7iii.

Stating that you have "the latest version" doesn't really hold much water here. Please tell us the exact version number you are using. If, in fact, you are running Lightroom CC version 1.3 of the cloud version, you should have support for the camera. If you are running that version and cannot work with the raw files from the camera, then there is another issue that has to be dealt with.

Would the DNG Converter be an option Jim if drbilldo wasn't in a position to upgrade?

Yes, it would be necessary to use the latest iteration of the converter. But if the OP is a Creative Cloud subscriber then there shouldn't be a problem in upgrading.

Added later: an older operating system might be a deterrent consideration, of course.
