Why does saved image look differ than the image in LR?

Why is it that when I save images to computer from LR the image is different than when I look at it in LR? Colors are off.  I’m saving as a jpeg, 300dpi, quality at 100%, and color is set to sRGB.  I get a slightly different color when saved to my computer. As a photographer, this is terrible! I have to edit and save and re-edit and save until the saved images look correct.

Does anyone have any insight into this?

    Okay....so, I went through those steps and it’s still the same as it has been. The color is slightly different. Just barely, but it’s there.

    Are there other things I can try?


    Are you using "Windows Photo Gallery" or "Windows Photo Viewer", IIRC the latter was/is the default viewer in Windows 7? Windows Photo Viewer has basic colour-management, so you shouldn't see any difference between the exported jpegs and the originals in LR CC.

    So can you confirm which program is being used to view the files, and if it's not Windows Photo Viewer you should try it.

    Hi there,

    We're sorry to hear about this, as you're experiencing a difference in color, could you please let us know which exact version of Lightroom you're using and which operating system are you working on?

    Could you please try color calibrating your monitor and let us know if it helps?

    Also, where are you viewing the images?

      Hi,

      Thank you for your response! 

      -I have calibrated numerous times and it didn’t make a difference.

      -Im using Lightroom CC

      -I use Windows 7

      -I view them with Windows Photo Gallery when they are saved to the computer.

      Thanks for the additional information, could you please try the steps below and let us know if it helps?

      Click on start and open to Control Panel.
      In the upper right corner type in [Color Management] into the search bar and click on it.
      Then click on [Add] and find the line titled [sRGB IEC61966-2.1] and set it as default.
      Make sure that your Photoshop color settings are the same.
      Double check by returning to Photoshop's color settings and under [working spaces] set the RGB value to [sRGB IEC61966-2.1] Then relaunch Photoshop.

      What application do you use to view the image? This question comes up very frequently, and the answer is almost always the same: Lightroom is a color-managed application. If you view the exported image in a non-color managed application, then you are going to see differences.

        Thank you for your response!  This has been making me crazy!   . I’m using the default Windows Photo Gallery to view the saved images.  How do I fihire out if it’s a “color managed application”?  I can’t continue having this happen.
