Windows Fatal Error while using Lightroom

I have been getting error messages only while using Lightroom and Photoshop.  They system shuts down.  Usually it will restart, however, there are times when I have to unplug the PC.

 

error message is Video_DXGKRNL Fatal Error.

 

How to fix this?

This error is from a Blue screen system crash & the issue is broader. It gets triggered when Photoshop or Lightroom are launched & they try to use the GPU on your machine.

 

Apply any pending updates to the Windows OS & the graphics cards from the respective manufacturer's driver managers. Check this for help: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-gpu-graphics-card.html
