I have not found a way to search for FOLDER names, or ALBUM names in the new Lightroom CC. If a person has nested folders or nested albums there should be a way to search for keywords in the folder or album names.
Hi Philip, thanks for the feedback. This is currently not possible. I've marked your topic as a feature request for other customers to vote on and the engineering team to consider.
You talking about LRCC or LR Classic? My understanding is that LRCC organizes for the user and provides a sophisticated search algorithm to find individual images but that there is no "folder" structure only albums generated automatically. At least that is what I understood Jared Platt to say in his video on CreativeLive.com. Do I misunderstand?
Totally necessary feature. I have just migrated my quite extensive photo library from Classic CC to CC, first building hierarchy of collections and collection sets out of file system directories and them importing them into CC, which has managed to build the same hierarchy of albums and folders respectively. Now, when it was a hierarchy of file system directory I could always rely on the file system to find what I want. Now I am lacking this ability, which is quite sad.

Thanks Victoria. I'm a bit confused. I don't see an unfollow button in upper right corner. I do see vote and follow buttons directly below the original idea text. Why am I getting post to the idea if the button is showing as follow onstead of unfollow? Doesn't that mean I'm not following the topic?
Having a Follow button means you shouldn't be getting email notifications. Are they still arriving? You're probably set to automatically follow ones you post on, so you might need to unfollow it again now.

I am very comfortable of using nested tags and organzing photos in the folder file structure I have created in classic.
I tested importing a folder into CC. I can't see any sort of file structure showing me where my originally photo is. I am assuming because everything is SYNCd into the cloud?
So i tried to use the search to show me all photos that are NOT in an album, needless to say i couldn't get the search to show me that
CC for me is to only touch up collections I have created in Classic. I feel CC has a long way to go for me to switch to it prime time
I vote a thousand times for this feature. It shouldn't be hard to see how important this feature is. No one can find their albums without this feature. It is so frustrating.

GEGJr You are right. Lightroom (new version) is much better at finding images and doesn't organize by folders, but it does allow for an "Album" based organization on top of the shot date organization that it uses on its own. This is true in Lightroom Desktop and Lightroom Mobile. What people are seeking is a FIND option that allows us to FIND a specific "album" which is called a "collection" in Lightroom Classic. Lightroom Classic already allows for this in the Collections area, but somehow they didn't figure that out in Lightroom Desktop and Lightroom Mobile. So we are pestering them for it.
