I know it's not the same as "filtering", but you could do a search by e.g. "Dec 6 2019" to see the results for that date. Or use the (...) menu > Segmentation > by Year, Month, Day or Hour.

Recent added may have nothing to do with the date the image was taken, and also does not help looking for older pictures.
However, with that said. Over on the left menu under the recently added is a date filter. Not where I would have looked for it until I went to explore how many entries were in the recently added.

Hi Tim,
Fwiw, have you tried entering the date in search field in the format like "December 22 2021"? I've tried this in Lr desktop, and it worked for me. Also, you could use Segmentation on Lr mobile, and filtering "by Date" (that you discovered) in Lightroom desktop.
Date segments in mobile are not very useful in this case. In addition, I do a lot more work on the desktop, than I do on mobile.
When I search for "feb 2019" I get 1332, "february 2019" I get 1199, "2019-02" I get 1069, while "02-2019" I get 1202, and lastly using the "by date" on the left menu I get 1402. So which is the correct answer?
Any update? I have 5.5 now, and the numbers in the answers have changed even though I have not added pictures from february 2019 since I started this thread.
