P: Lightroom Classic>Edit in PS: Long Delay+Erroneous Error Message opening Ps Beta 2024 25.0

I just recently updated Photoshop Beta to 2024 v25.0 on my Windows 11 machine.

Now when I try to open photos from LR 12.4 using the "edit in...", it hangs up for a time and then comes up saying "The file could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop 2024 could not be launched."

When I hit "Ok" it then opens the file in Photoshop 2024.

This happens with every file, even if Photoshop 2024 is already up and running at the time.

This does not happen with 2023 v24.7.

Greetings all,

Lightroom Classic 12.5 released this evening.  If used in conjunction with PS Beta 25.0 or later, this erroneous error message plus long open wait time should be mitigated. Please install LrC 12.5 and make certain that your Beta is up to date.

If you do not see the update in your Creative Cloud Application, you can refresh it by hitting [Ctrl/Cmd]+[Alt/Opt]+[ R ].

Note: It may take up to 24 hours for your update to be available in your Creative Cloud app.

Maybe this error message can help to solve this bug.

It does only occur when trying to send more than one picture towards Photoshop Beta 25.

after the popup that says photoshop can not be opened, this one pops up:

AgStoreProviderSession:getEntityById: id must be a number string

This is not a case. After upgrading Ps (Beta) to 25 it looks like hase influence on Ps 2023 as well. When define in LrC 'External editing" in "Preferences" Photoshop 2023 and the press Cmd+E nothing happens - the transferr process of the file is stacked. When change 'External edirind' to Photoshop Beta then transfer take few minutes, info pop-ups that path to the file can not be found and file is opened anyway in Ps as converted to TIFF type and this can not be changed (like to PSD type).  When uninstall completely (including all libraries removed from disk) Ps (Beta) v25 and Ps 2023 and reinstall to Ps 2023 (the same version) and Ps Beta 24.7 then everything goes back to normal. I can transferr files from LrC with Cmd+E command to both - Ps 2030 and Ps (Beta) 24.7 with no problems.

It may be important to note that this issue only is a problem for me with a basic M2 MacBook Pro. My M1 Studio is running the latest versions of PS and PS Beta with no LR interface issue. Again, on the MacBook, reverting to earlier versions of BOTH PS and PS Beta solved the problem.

Macbook (Pro M2 Max late June 2023 64GB memory and 1Tb SSD running Mac OS Ventura 13.5) using Lightroom 12.4. I was able to add Photoshop beta as an option - I can swap between Photoshop beta (25.0.0) and clean-release Photoshop but with Generative AI available inside the beta that is my preference to use and so is set to my default for Photoshop editing.

When I try to open a DNG in Photoshop beta I get the screen attached and after clicking on the OK button I can see the DNG inside Photoshop beta on this instance. It can take some time which is disconcerting for a new M2 I have seen other instances where no message appears on screen, so I try the export again. It can also cause my Dell U3223QE to turn off. Super weird but leave that for another day as hopefully the bugs opening Photoshop will be fixed as this does not happen with any other software used daily.

The process of returning the edited image seems to work as expected and I have no problems to report. I had the same problems with previous editions as well but not consistently. Is it possible it's an M2 issue? My machine was only put into use around 30 June 2023.

Photoshop 2023 v24.7, Lightroom Classic v12.4

Lightroom Classic > Right Click Image > Edit In > Photoshop 2023 > Message that image can only be opened in Photoshop Beta

While using the most current version of Lightroom Classic, I am now unable to use the External Edit function. I was using Photoshop Beta but due to the most recent major issues, I uninstalled Beta and reinstalled Photoshop 2023. However, despite adjusting the setting in External File Handling in LRC, I get a message telling me that I can only open files to edit in Beta despite Beta being uninstalled.

I shoot primarily architectural photography, at least 80% of my workflow involves opening multiple layers from Lightroom into Photoshop, and I still use Lightroom Classic.

As of right now, with all the latest updates, I cannot open any raw file to edit individually, and upon further testing, no file type (tested JPEG, RAW and TIF) will open as layers. This is absolutely crippling to my workflow in a month where I'm already backed up with projects to finish, has anyone found a workaround?

I recently updated Photoshop, Photoshop Beta and Lightroom Classic. Normally, I edit photos in Lightroom Classic then right click to edit image in Photoshop Beta as I selected it as default in Lightroom preferences. After updating, it takes so long and instead of opening my raw file with Lightroom adjustments it shows me a notification: The file could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop (Beta) could not be launched. When I click OK, it starts exporting the file to Photoshop Beta but it creates me automatically a psd file. Before updating it normally opened raw file and I saved file as psd after finishing editing in Photoshop Beta. I don't know it is going on.

I edit photos in Lightroom Classic, then do additional edits in Photoshop with the "Edit In" option via right-clicking the image. After the most recent updates, I keep getting the following two error messages when I try and do this:

error 1 - lightroom to photoshop.jpgerror 2 - lightroom to photoshop.jpg

The photos eventually load into photoshop, but I'm wondering if there's a communication error? When I choose to "edit in" it gives Photoshop 2024 as the option, then opens Beta. There hasn't been a 2024 update that I've received.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both Photoshop 2023, Photoshop (Beta), and Lightroom Classic. I've also tried a variety of performance adjustments. Does anyone have suggestions? 😕

Go to your Creative Cloud and click on the 3 little dots on the right of the PS app, where you’ll see an option for other versions. Install the previous version of PS and you should be OK.

I have the same issue. Neither Photoshop nor Photoshop (Beta) will accept files sent from Lightroom Classic. I've tried individual files and tried to load a few files as layers and it does not work in either version. Both Photoshop and Photoshop (Beta) will load individual files but they cannot be sent from Lightroom Classic.

1. Version 25.0.0

2. Mac OS 13.4.1 (c)

This new update refuses to open an image from LR.  Nothing happens when I choose "Edit in Photoshop".

Steps:

1. I'm in LRC (12.4)

2. I want to edit a photo in PS(Beta), so I choose Edit in Photoshop

3. I get the standard message to Open in Photoshop

4. Nothing happens at first.  Then about 3 or 4 minutes later it has launched, but I get a message in LR that Photoshop(Beta) failed to launch.
