P: Photoshop Beta (BUG) Free Transform and Transform Selection no longer work

Photoshop Beta, version 25.2 (latest)
OS: Windows 11

Troubleshooting steps:
- I have uninstalled ALL adobe products, rebooted and reinstalled. Still same issue
- Reset prefrences on quit

Steps to reproduce:
1. create new project
2. Select Rectangular Marque Tool
3. Select an area on the page
4. right-click, and chose either Free Transform or Transform Selection

5. clicking and dragging on the handles does nothing, not even rotate works.

The only way to actually transform what you have selected is to change the values in the top bar, or by clicking on a vector (X:, Y:, W:, H:) and dragging. Grabbing and dragging the box handles do nothing.

This works okay in Photoshop Beta 25.1 and the current version of regular, non-beta, Photoshop.

I'm still using PS Beta 25.2.0 on Win 11 because I have standard PS crashes (is unstable).

Auto constrained proportions has reverted back to legacy mode (requires shift) when sizing images/objects in PS Beta 25.2.0. The "Use Legacy Free Transform" box is not checked in the preferences. Checking the box does not change behavior.

Just checking to see if there is any info on this. Auto constrain proportions was working fine in Beta up until very recently. Perhaps something changed in an update? The auto constrain proportions works fine in Standard PS, but for some reason, standard PS is unstable on my computer. It constantly crashes when performing simple tasks like pasting an image from the clipboard.

It's not an issue to hold the shift key, but I have gotten used to the auto feature, after using it for years.

The default is objects maintain aspect ratio when using Free Transform, unless the Shift key is pressed. That's working with both current full release and beta 25.2 M.2374 for me also with Windows 11.

Have any thought on why you are having problems running the current full release version? Are you able to run all the Neural and Parametric filters on 25.2.0 ? How recent is your Win11 system, and is the OS in good health?

Hi, I am using Photoshop Beta, for the last 3 months I could resize and transform my image without any problems but today all of a sudden I can't do it.

When I import an image for the first time, I can resize it however I want but only once. When I click somewhere other than the image and then click it again, it won't let me move, transform, or resize it. When I do it with Ctrl+T, it lets me do it but only once. Then I need to click somewhere outside of the image again and then click again and ctrl+t to resize or move it Once again and it goes like this. I tried to reset all preferences but no luck.

Hi @alazp do you see the same issue with Ps release version, or is this just in Ps beta?

It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

Thank you for the update @alazp testing here and we don't see this issue. Could you share your steps/workflow on what you did when this occured so we can try to replicate here?

Try resetting Prefs for the Beta:

Launch BETA Photoshop While Pressing The Keyboard Shortcut
With Photoshop closed, press and hold Shift+Ctrl+Alt (Win) / Shift+Command+Option (Mac) on your keyboard and then Launch Photoshop the way you normally would.

Testing here on Win11 with the latest Ps beta and we are not seeing this issue.

You could try deleting the Ps beta from CCD and then reinstall to see if that fixes this.

Can you describe your exact workflow? What steps are you taking when trying to increase the text box size?

Is this happening to 25.1 or the 25.2 beta version of Photoshop?

I have tried testing this with both versions and it is working OK for me.

One of the glitches I noticed is that the mouse can't resize anything in Free Transform.

The Transform functionality associated with the Marquee Tool isn't working. In fact, selecting Transform or Free Transform will show the Transform box but you can't interact with or move it.

after the last update, the transform tool stopped working. i can only move layers, but cant use the nodes for any other function (distort, warp, perspective ...etc) and even the moving ability stops once i click on the nodes. check the attached clip ( when the cursor returns to the middle of screen, im selecting a function from the menu but it is not showing in the recording)

Hi, I have problem with photoshop (Beta). When I write something in text layer and some letters are "out of the box" that I can't see them I wanna resize text box to see all of my text but there is no option. I see box to edit and "+" but when I want resize cursor is moving but my text box not! I can edit text but can't resize box. I reset preferences. There is no problem in official Photoshop.
