(Sorry if this has been asked before.)

With the latest Photoshop beta update, it crashes on launch.

I have uninstalled the Photoshop beta, uninstalled and reinstalled CC, restarted, unchecked GPU composting in the non-beta version., and reinstalled Photoshop beta, it still crashes on launch (the icon in the dock bounces once and stops without launching).

I have been using Photoshop beta since it was available, even though there is a warning that my (older) OS may cause issues.

I on a team (Enterprise) version of CC.

Today's (5/20) Photoshop Beta distribution, 25.10 20240519.m.2625, should fix startup issues for you, as we have restored the ability to run Photoshop on macOS 11 (Big Sur) equipped Macs, as well as non-AVX2-equipped hardware.

If you still have any issues starting Photoshop once you've installed today's Beta, please let us know more detail about your computer system.

25.9 also crashes for me. It is definitely Nik Collection causing the issue. This is what I did. I removed the Nik Collection folder from the adobe common plugin folder. C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CC. The folder it was in was called DXO2. I cut and pasted it directly into the plugin folder for Photoshop 2024 (the non beta version.) So if I want to use NIK Collection, I have to go to the non beta Photoshop. To use beta features, I go to Photoshop beta. When a new beta version comes out, I will test it by adding NIK Collection into the beta version's plug in folder. If not working, I will remove it.

Today I've updated to 25.9 - again it crashed on opening, but using Shift and reopening I opened without any plugins and that worked - BUT obviously it means I'm without those now - primarily without Nix Collection 😞

I have had similar problems with the latest beta so decided to remove the dxo plugins individually. After removing Nik 6 HDR Efex folder from the plugins folder photoshop 25.9 start fine and able to use the rest of Nik software plugins. Hope this helps.

Impossibile fare ciò che dici. La versione beta, 25.9 ed anche la 25.8 quando lanciate, si chiudono immediatamente.

Removing the Nik HDR Efex folder from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CC\DxO2\Nik Collection 6 "solved" the problem. The Beta 25.9 now starts.

Photoshop beta doesn't crash when NIK is installed and the HDR efex folder is removed. But NIK doesn't work, it says it's not available. NIK works in the regular Photoshop, but not in the PS beta. But hey, we can work round that  🙂

I tried that, not working on my case.

I was able to solve the problem (Photoshop Beta 25.9 working with the Nik Collection) in the following way:

1. Uninstall the version of Photoshop Beta that won't start.
2. Install a previous version that does work.
3. With the control panel uninstall the Nik Collection.
4. Install the latest version of PS Beta (25.9).
5. Download the latest version of the Nik Collection from the DXO website and install it, after having installed PS Beta 25.9 and checked that it loads correctly!

This way Phtoshop Beta starts without problems and I can use the Nik Collection.

Another quick solution.
Rename file:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CC\DxO2\Nik Collection 6\Nik 6 HDR Efex\SelectivePalette.8li.lnk

to something else (eg. SelectivePalette.8li.lnk.original)
then restart PS B (v25.9).
In my case all Nik Collection plugins, includig HDR Plug-in, work perfectly fine in botg PS 2024 (non-Beta) and PS Beta 25.9

Il problema sembra sia causato da DXO Nick Collection 6 plug in. Per risolverlo, finche' non verra' risolta da Adobe, basta eliminare questa plug in dalla Plug-ins folder :

Hard Drive\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CC

Here is another solution that worked for me. Eliminate the Nick collection 6 from the file located at:

Hard Drive\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CC

Go to DXO site download the Nick collection 6 and load it again.

Lounch PS Beta and it should open with no problems.

NIK Collection 6 is definetly the culprit. Moved it out of the folder, now everything works. Thanks, guys.
