Hi everyone!
The Block style of dynamic text is now available in Photoshop beta!
Dynamic text is a new form of type layer that automatically resizes and adjusts your text to fit the shape of the text boundary, and enables you to easily create different looks and layouts by resizing the type layer's boundary rectangle.
How to make dynamic text
Create a Point type or Paragraph type layer, and convert to dynamic text using the new button found in the Tool options bar and Properties panel or from the Type menus.
You can customize the spacing between words or lines using the Word gap and Line gap options in the Dynamic text section of the Properties panel.
Try Dynamic text & Share what you create!
Please try Dynamic text: Block, share what you create in this forum thread, and let us know if you encounter any issues or have thoughts on how we can improve this feature!

This is awesome — so many hours wasted creating this kind of text block! But not anymore 😊 I’ve only tried it briefly so far, so I don’t have real experience yet, but it seems to work great. Thanks for introducing such a useful feature!

Awesome, thanks for sharing @Carlos_Oliveras ! Glad you're finding it useful. If you'd like to, we'd love to see an example of how you're using Dynamic text!

While it's not exactly a real-life example, here's how I demonstrated it in a video (it's in spanish, though):
Hope it's okay to share the link! Thanks again.

Yes! I had seen your video the day you posted it, love the thumbnail example with the perspective and effects you've added! Thanks @Carlos_Oliveras ! If you do find yourself using it for any real-life cases that you can share, it would be awesome to be able to share with the team.

Just great! Can we have it like that in Illustrator?

Thanks @Mark ORIMBELLI LLC ! I can't speak for their roadmaps, but will pass on to the Ai and Id teams that there's a ton of interest in something like Dynamic text over there.
Cheers!

Really nice and helpful feature! I just wish Arabic language could be added. When I try to write in Arabic and turn it on, the text looks a bit messy and not aligned well. Hope this can be improved soon

Hi @Mohammed M Alhamed ! Thanks for chiming in and voting for Arabic language support! We are working to enable RTL language support in the future, and hopefully we can make that happen. Stay tuned!

Are there any plans to add dynamic text to InDesign and/or Illustrator?

Jesus Rameriz demo'd a killer existing Type feature that I didn't know about in his latest upload. It's a bit like the Illustrator live text Sneak Peek from MAX 2023. I was super envious when I saw what was coming to Illustrator, and there is a sort of cut down version in Photoshop, albeit via a circuitous route using the CC Library panel (I don't how long this feature has been available).

Looks great! Unfortunately, I couldn't try it because in my Photoshop Beta it turns gray and doesn't work for some reason

I believe Dynamic text button is disabled if multiple type layers are selected or if the type layer is Right to Left. Would either of these scenarios be true in your document?

I am loving dynamic text (the whole reason I downloaded the beta in the first place)! The one thing I dislike is that we aren't able to adjust the leading of the text. Tracking and kerning I can understand why not, but to be able to adjust that vertical space is a piece that I clearly feel the absense of.

@Regis23272345ih25 you would be better off posting the idea on the Photoshop Beta forum

Thanks @Ged_Traynor -- I've moved @Regis23272345ih25 's comment over to the dynamic text thread.
and, thank you @Regis23272345ih25 !
It's worth noting that you can currently adjust both Kerning and tracking within a Dynamic text layer. You also have Word Gap and Line gap. With those mentions, I still definitely hear you about Leading! This is something we're looking into and working on, though I can't say exactly when it might be coming.
In the meantime, you CAN use Baseline Shift to move a line or lines up or down and can somewhat serve as a leading workaround.
Regards,
Pete

Hiya, I downloaded Adobe Photoshop 26,7 and found out that I don't have the "Dynamic text tool", can someone help me with this please?

Hi Iryna, currently this feature is only available in the beta version of Photoshop (currently in version 26.8). I guess you are looking for this issue in the "standard" version of Photoshop, but like I say, this feature hasn't made it to that version yet. So, if you want to use dynamic text, you should install Photoshop beta from the Creative Cloud app.

I do most of my font work in Illustrator or Indesign lately and keep photoshop for well photos. Please push this tool to the programs more designed around text and vectors.

We don't have the stats for perpetual license versions of the Adobe apps, but when the Creative Cloud subscription model was introduced, legitimate paid subscribers increased from around 700,000 mid-2013 to 1.4 million by end of that year. Numbers increased steadily, but Photoshop numbers ballooned rapidly after Scott Kelby persuaded Adobe to introduce the Photography plan. There are now more than 37 million people with a paid for Creative Cloud subscription, with a large majority having just Photoshop, Lightroom and Bridge.
So would you deny this superb tool to all those people? That's just a bit elitist methinks.

They have introduced photo tools into ID before photoshop in the past too with generative image. Either make PS the All in one app or have the apps for the purpose they are designed. Photoshop is not a vector tool by nature. Yes it has vector tools and this tool is great for posters which a lot of people use ps for. But if you actually read my post before getting on a high horse caping for the PS only croud and getting all rude calling me an elitist, the phrase push to tool too implies I want it on their also as this tool would serve to the purpose of those apps. I do however think that this tool would be a much more amazing addition to those tools as it suits their primary function. For PS it just gives it another "This and" value propisition.
