P: Layer Mask Icons in 25.1

Someone has asked about this in the main Photoshop forum.  I'd not opened 25.1 and can't find any information — like a what's new.  @CShubert can you explain how the new layer mask icons work?  Thanks.

Hi all - happy to announce that this feature has been added as an option in the latest public release 25.2. Update your Photoshop 2024 to access via the Layers Panel Menu.

BONUS - it was off by default after update.

That is good news, thank you. However, all my Creative Cloud Desktop offers as of today is version 25.1. Do you know when 25.2 will actually be available, as Creative Cloud tells me there is nothing to update for the moment?

Same here, 25.1 is the newest version I could (re-)install. Looks like they roll out the update in stages (not for all available at the same time).

You have something going on there.  I updated to 25.3 several days ago. 

Check the Creative Cloud desktop app preferences.  Are auto updates and notifications turned on for the two Photoshop versions?

Try sighning out of the Creative Cloud desktop app and back in again.

Try reinstalling the Creative Cloud desktop app.

It just seems wrong that you are still stuck on 25.1

More likely they're rolling it out at different times in different regions of the world. I am in Europe (France), and even after restarting or reinstalling the CC Desktop program, the latest version of Photoshop it offers if 25.1, specifying underneath "Updated 4 days ago", see attached screen capture. Clicking on the Help | Updates... menu item in Photoshop produices the exact same result.

It is just the Beta Version! I would not use it for production work. Even 25.1. is more unstable then 24…

I do not tinker around with Betas in production work anymore. 25.1. is still very buggy on my M1 Mac Studio

It would be nice to enjoy a regular release of PS with that badge removed. The BETA does not work for me since the Beta Bridge WILL NOT CALL THE BETA PS (!) when loading multiple layers but reverts to the 25.1.  So the Beta turns out to be a giant waste of my time. Doesn't anyone test this code before release?

Did you check that the file Preferences in Beta Bridge were pointing to the Beta PS?
