Could Not Complete Request because LoadDeepFontCache in GetDeepFontCache Failed

When I launch photoshop and try to use the type tool I get the following error.

"Could Not Complete Request because Load Deep Font Cache in Get Deep Font Cache Failed"

I have tried deleting  CT Font Cache and Font Feature Cache numerous times. I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling photoshop. I noticed in creative cloud that one font failed to load so I deleted it completely and still no luck. I am also trying to chat with live support but they don't answer.

Any help is appreciated!

This worked! But just to say you need to tick the 'Hidden items' box in the view tab of your user folder otherwise AppData doesn't show up! That threw me initially 🙄

Thank you very much. My menu is in German and here the option "Ausgeblendete Elemente" has to be selected.

Worked here too! I had to do a file explorer search for each file to find them. Thanks for posting!

I haven't been able to solve the problem yet. However, I have a workaround for the problem:
Font -> Panels -> Glyphs
Only in this Panel you can select the desired Font without error message. I am urgently waiting for an error correction from Adobe.

Has anyone found a permanent fix for this? Literally just updated and still get the same issue. Super frustrating.

Ingresa al editor del registro, y borra los registros de photoshop.

Editor del registro/hkey_current_user/software/adobe/photoshop

Borra el registro "photoshop" y listo. A mi me solucionó.

I have spent 2 hours trying to tackle "could not complete your request because loaddeepfontcache in getdeepfontcache failed" error message that I get when trying to change the font face (after installing and using a variable font).
After uninstalling the latest PS version along with my pereferances, folded back to 24.7.2, facing the same issue, uninstaled this version and preferances, I compromised with the fact that I will keep working on photoshop without being able to change fonts on my design.
Now, I am back to latest PS version. I ucheck the "extras" from the view menu because I don't prefer working this way. When I hit Ctrl+; to see just the guidlines, all the extras appear as if I hit Ctrl+h.
Maybe my bain if fried trying to work arround the first problem - is there any option that I am forgetting in order to just switch on and off just the guidelines?

I realize this is an older thread, but I too am having the same issue. To be clear, I have tried all of the troubleshooting steps listed in the list provided. The problem for me started when I upgraded to Windows 11. It has become a true nightmare. I go through the steps and it works for a random amount of time, and then I have to do all the steps all over again. Is there a permanent fix for this?

I was able to identify it is a system wide issue with Version 25.5. Rolled back to 25.4 and we are back in business.

Hello everyone,

since today, I can't access my fonts in PS and each time I try to click on the Fonts list I am getting this error.

Just for the full backstory I downloaded a new Google font today, but already deleted it. I followed the troubleshooting on the Adobe site, but I didn't help. I also updated to the newest version, completely de-installed, and installed it again, with and without presets and I am still getting this error.

In case it is relevant, I am on Windows 10. Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong? Thank you!

Do the steps in this article help? Do your fonts work in other apps- maybe try Word or Wordpad?

Hello, I am having the same issue.

I have tried the below option:

WINDOWS

  • Exit Photoshop and the Creative Cloud desktop app

  • Navigate to \Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop <version>
  • Delete the CT Font Cache  and FontFeatureCache folder and empty the Recycle Bin

I have uninstalled and reinstalled, cleared all caches, tried to delete any downloaded fonts, Updated everything and nothing seems to be working. I logged into another laptop and tried it and it seemed to work fine but on my work laptop i'm unable to change fonts because of this error.

Is there a help desk or something i can phone? Any and all suggestions are welcome 😕

I have previously complained about generative fill tutorials and missing icons, I coaxed Photoshop to run and get this error when I try to choose a font:

Could not complete your request because

LoadDeepFont Cache in GetDeepFontCache failed.

See attached screen shot.

Same issue here. I can change fonts via the Type > Panels > Glyph Panel, but not using the normal tools.

Using 25.5.1
