Could Not Complete Request because LoadDeepFontCache in GetDeepFontCache Failed

When I launch photoshop and try to use the type tool I get the following error.

"Could Not Complete Request because Load Deep Font Cache in Get Deep Font Cache Failed"

I have tried deleting  CT Font Cache and Font Feature Cache numerous times. I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling photoshop. I noticed in creative cloud that one font failed to load so I deleted it completely and still no luck. I am also trying to chat with live support but they don't answer.

Any help is appreciated!

Hey, @avivl86621591. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. We've moved the post to discussions; I'll need more info to help you figure this out. Please share the system info from Photoshop Help > System info > Copy and paste into a text document > Upload and attach here.

Does the error appear when you open a specific font?

In Photoshop, go to Type > Font Preview Size > None.

Right when you see the error, without dismissing the error, go to the location mentioned in the thread you shared and check the size of the folder and share it with us.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks!

Sameer K

@Sameer K Thanks for the reply!
The error happens when i just click to open the dropsown menu of fonts, without even choosing a specific font. (did what you said about the oreview)
The folders sizes are : CT Font Cache 577kb
FontFeatureCache 823kb
Im also attaching a word doc you asked.

Hello, the past few weeks I've been having so many issues with my photoshop that it becomes nearly impossible to work on.

All my document sizes constantly reset, I can't type anything because of "Could Not complete request [...]"
My tools sometimes appear blank. I tried older versions of PS and still the same thing happens.

Even if I delete CT Font folder and the other one I still can't change the font at all and this has been the case for weeks, the newsest or older versions it doesn't matter.

I have exactly the same problem, including the Adjustment Panel being empty after restarting. The odd thing is that in the Beta version everything works like a charm. Just switched back to 25.4 .0 again 😞

Any solution so far? I have the LoadDeepFontCache ... error and also my tools are sometimes blank like sheezer was mentioning. Sometimes Photoshop crashes, too. This all seemed to start after I updated to the latest PS version (at least the blank tools) and probably also since I installed a new font today (the LoadDeepFontCache... error when trying to change the font).

I tried everything I found on the internet (deleting Preferences Folder, deleting the Adobe FontCaches Folder, deleting Windows .dat fontcache files etc.) for this error, but nothing worked.

Sadly, I haven't find any official solution. Since my previous comment, I've spoken with several different Adobe customer support specialists where they accessed my computer remotely - they did everything I've already tried on my own and concluded by suggesting that I'm not using Windows 11 (I'm currently on Windows 10 and can provide more technical info for my PC if it'd help), and the only "solution" was to downgrade to an older version (several versions earlier that remove loads of new features that I actively use (such as Generative AI, object selection tool, etc.)). If you learn of anything new, pleaseeee share it here, as this application is basically unusable until this problem is fixed; and, despite paying loads of money for my Adobe CC subscription, it doesn't seem like they care to resolve this issue.

Lightroom Classic

Photoshop 25.12

Dell XPS 17 9700

Intel i9-10885h CPU @2.40 VGHz

64 bit, x64 processor

Drives C: 935GB using 621

Drives D: 1.81TB using 263GB

Lets begin

For months now, I cannot change font type in photo shop. When I try to change font, I get "Could not complete your request because LoadDeepFontCache in GetDeepFontCache failed.

I deleted the FontCache and cleared Recycle Bin, re booted, opened Photoshop 2024 same issue.

I deleted the Font Feature Casche and did the same reboot.

I have deleted and reinstalled Photoshop.

Another issue is I cannot send files from Lightroom Classic to Photoshop. Photoshop will engage but not the file. This is killing my bracketing work that is long overdue.

I am part of 3 area Photography groups and friends with many. More and more "experienced" Adobe users are finding other software to edting and video that is more stable AND cheaper. I am hoping someone at Adobe will step up and listen to your customers. I am losing money right now because I cannot get my work done.

My fonts have completely stopped working Photoshop and I keep getting an error message saying "Could not complete your request because LoadDeepFontCache in GetDeepFontCache failed". I've followed instructions online and deleted the CT Font Cache and Font Feature Cachee but both things haven't fixed the issue. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling Photoshop a few times. Can anyone recommend how to fix this?

Hey there, We're sorry for your experience with Photoshop. I'll move this thread to discussion for now.

We need more details to help you. What version of Photoshop and Windows are you using? Do your fonts work in other apps?

Have you tried the steps mentioned here? https://adobe.ly/3ZNFjg7

Goto Type Menu > Font Preview >, set to "None," and relaunch Photoshop. Does that help?

let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Shivani

I've followed the below instructions and the fonts are now working but a previous problem I've been having has started again. All the icons in my toolbar have no image on them so it's impossible to tell what is what without clicking on it to find out.

I had to uninstall Photoshop & install an older version. It took a few versions to find one that worked. I used 24.0.
