P: Preview of clone stamp rotation is not correct

Explorer ,
Nov 24, 2019 Nov 24, 2019

Hard to explain:
Photoshop 20.0.1. Activate the clone stamp and the clone source panel. If you like to have a preview of the rotation of the stamp highlight the "0" in the text-area for rotation in the panel. Then bring your stamp to the area you want to work and change the rotation-value with the arrow keys. Then you will see the preview of the stamp is wrong. The right preview would be to rotate the center of the alt-click-area, but the preview in 2020 takes it from where your stamp is. So you have no preview of the actual rotation and it is not possible anymore to work with this "old" feature.

I have had problems with the clone tool rotation. I used to be able to see the rotation no matter where on the image I placed the selection but now I can't. This makes it very difficult to get the angle right - I used to take it over to the area I was going to put it and line them up. I recently changed to Catalina but not sure if this related.

I am having this exact issue. Clone tool used to pick up the selection, you'd move the selection elsewhere, rotate it to the correct angle before pasting. Now, it will not preserve the selection once you begin to rotate it. Instead it rotates whatever is under the brush.

Not sure why they combined my topic and this one.
The problems seem to be completely different.

UPD.
I do not agree with the unification of topics.

These are two different problems.
My preview rotation works. Not perfect, but still.

In that topic, a completely different problem is described.
The forum has at least four different users who have it. Only for some reason they do not want to write here. I wrote for them. This problem does not bother me, I do not use the PS2020.

Using Clone Stamp in Photoshop 2020.  Using shortcut Shift+Alt+< or > Clone source rotation does not

Rotate within the brush Borders but Rotates around original source point using the offsets as Radius

I have CC 2019 installed also and it work as it should

The problem that I described and WHY SOMETHING you combined with this topic in 21.1 is not solved.

What was described in the community forum you linked to was a rotation issue with the clone tool. Please log a bug with the exact steps to reproduce your issue along with a screen grab and I can have engineering take a look.

Create a 100x100px document.
Draw something there (a few lines).

Create a second document - 500x500px.

As a stamp source, select the zone in the first document (which is 100x100).

In the second document (which is 500x500), try to transfer something with a stamp in the right-bottom part.

UPD.
The word "rotation" in that topic on the forum was not at all

Hello,
In 21.1, the clone source rotation works but I still have an issue with the shortcuts : can't use the rotation nor the scaling shortcuts.

Is anyone also having trouble with the shortcuts?
Thanks
