The current version of Photoshop (24.3) is so buggy that I've had to revert to the previous version. The primary issue is files constantly failing to save, with a 'program error' message. When using (Custom) Actions that include saving as part of the Action, the same issue arises, making the chosen Action fail. Full Disk Access has been granted and other 'workarounds' don't make any difference.

the latest version of Light Room Classic also has disk permission issues, even though I've given it full disk access.

Is the »Save« part of the Action itself or »Save and Close«?

Does setting a Destination Folder make a difference?

It's the "Save" part of the action.  I have a separate step to close. It stops and errors out on "Save". No problem saving files manually.

Have you tried removing the »Save« from the Action and using Batch’s »Save and Close«?

Has anyone successfully reverted back to a previous version? How far back do I have to go to get the save funcion back on my actions... what version will work? (I updated several versions up an once due to a new conputer, so I have skipped forward a few). I am worried about losing my settings going backward but not being able to use an action to save & close it really slowing me down editing thousands of images. thanks!

I haven't... I am not sure exactly what you mean. I had made an action with a quick key that simply saves and closes the image, and can't seem to find a way around it. I need to save/close one image at a time as I am finished working on it, not run a batch action on many images. It's such a little thing, but adding 3-4 keystrokes per image is maddening, plus bc of muscle memory, I kept hitting it and then having to back out of the failed action so I had to disable it. I wish they would jusy fix it!

@khayes666 , in case you were referring to my previous post: These bug reports do not indicate the intended structure of posts; I was answering to a post by @Rachel.kleinman who was specifically referring to Batch.

Wouldn’t ctrl-S, ctrl-W achieve the task with 2 keytrokes? (And I’m not claiming that the bug is not relevant, but for the time being working around it or rolling Photoshop back are the available options.)

Since updating to the lastest version, my automated actions have stopped working. It looks like it completes all of my recorded actions up until saving the file, then I receive the error message "An error was encountered while batching. Check the error log file for details." Has anyone else run into this issue and is there a fix?

Salve.

Grazie.

I went back to 24.2.1. They seem to be working normally in there.

At the end of each action I use, I as the file to save in a specific location.  Each actions runs but then says there's a problem and how to fix.  I have about 25 actions written and I am hoping I don't have to redo the last coupe of steps in each one and that their is an easier way to fix.

I am running Montery but I was running Ventura and it's doing it in both OS but it started in Ventura.

I have been using actions for more than 10 years.

Thanks.

I have been using a  simple batch to make minor changes to JPEGs for many years.  It was working correctly up until quite recently, but now it has just started to give an error on the 'save' for (as far as I can see) no reason!  The prompt that comes up takes me to a page to 'fix' the issue, but it has nothing relevant on the webpage.

There have been no changes to my pc or the actual batch actions.  The only change I can think of that would have caused this is the last Photoshop update, so I can only think that this is a bug.

I can get around this by using the 'save as' option instead of a simple 'save', but this is an annoyance as I'm creating unneeded copies of the JPEGs on my drive.  Is there a fix for this?

Yes, widely reported but there are workarounds or you can roll-back to an earlier version until the bug is fixed:

Programmers have acknowledged that it has been fixed and will be included in next photoshop update but their comment is not dated and they give no indication when next update is.  I installed the next lower version of 24.2 and it resolved the fix.    I do think it's crazy that since they have the fix they don't release it but it's easy to bring back the older verison. Just google it.  Good luck.
