P: PS v26 Type tool keeps resetting back to Myriad Pro 12pt [2024]

Fix: Turn off Missing Glyph Protection
Menu > Edit > Preferences > Type > Enable Missing Glyph Protection

Apologies for the lack of specifics. Usually I give them upfront, but I was mentally exhausted. It had been 12 frustrating hours at that point. Thank you for the confirmation, and for taking the time to figure out how to replicate it. 

Still getting this issue too. I never used to have this issue - can't remember when. Very annoying!

@Harry_Franklin9673 thanks for more info, now in fact i was able to replicate the same issue, it kept the font size but resets type to Myriad Pro for new typed in text:

I have just tried on 26.8.1 on both Windows and Mac OS and it works perfectly fine, text boxes stayed in the font they were in before I double clicked layer icon. But then im not entirely sure what the issue was as most of you just says "ive got issue" without specifying what it is, how to replicate it etc...

Sounds more like issue with your Photoshops, have you tried reinstalling it? Or at least resetting user settings folder (dont forget to make a backup)

26.8.1 RELEASE STILL HAS THIS ISSUE. It's made Photoshop almost unusable for my needs! It's negatively impacting my small business! Why am I paying you montly?

As of June 29, 2025 I am experiencing this error in the latest edition of Photoshop.

26.7, and it's still happening. Who do I see about paying for a broken product?

Unhinged that this has been an issue for 2y and hasn't been corrected. We pay way too much for this software to be having issues. No wonder people just crack it.
