P: "New Layer" and "New Group" buttons in the Layers panel stay down after clicking on it

Hello,

since the last update, almost every time I click on the New Layer and/or New Group buttons in the Layers panel, the buttons become stuck and unusable. I have to restart Photoshop to reset their state.
Not game breaking but definitely annoying.

ME TOO. I click on the Groups folder to start my new group and nothing happens. Tried in multiple files and same result - nothing. This is a HUGE need for a website designer... I have hundreds of layers in a given document that I need to put in to groups.

I also have this problem.  I am using Mac Mojave.  Many of us are awaiting the fix for this.  It's a time suck and workflow disturbance.

After a few hours it does this, the buttons to create new layer in the layers panel are highlighted a lighter colour. It then won't let me click on them. It recently changed the add new mask button too. Restarting photoshop fixes this, is there anything i'm doing wrong?

Happening to me too. Win10 English. No other programs running, no plug-ins installed, not connected to the internet, and all drivers up to date. Has been happening since the last update of PS 21.1

Bug PS 21.1.0: Layer opacity: now you have to click at certain percentages, previously you could see the changes live in the photo while holding down the mouse button. Good: Layer modes work without a click.

I, too, have this issue.  Mac OS Catalina, don't use Chrome at all.  Photoshop 21.1.0.  Making things very difficult.

This happens all the time and it's super annoying. It can happen to any of the lower buttons on the layers panel and usually the only way to fix it is to restart Photoshop. I attached screenshots of the buttons frozen in time... Please fix this Adobe, this is a first. I'm running latest version of Photoshop on Windows 10 with all current updates.

This solution has helped me as an easy fix, instead of restarting Photoshop:

I grab a layer and drag it down to the lower button which has been frozen and the lower button then behaves as normal.

I don't know why, but it does for me. Saves me saving my work and restarting Photoshop.

In the latest PS I am seeing a bug where the 'create layer folder' button becomes greyed out (as if it is being selected) then becomes unusable until restarting PS. 

It's happened when selecting 3 or more layers then pressing the button whilst CTRL held down. It doesn't create the folder and instead becomes unusable, presumably sitting in a constant limbo state. 

Using on Win10 Pro 64bit.

For no reason in the latest Photoshop CC (21.1.1). The buttons at the bottom of the layers window/panel. eg. Link, effects, mask, adjustments, folder, new layer, delete. Just stop working. Restarting photoshop fixes it but it randomly just starts happening every now and then.

Same issue for me. Get this fixed now. It's ridiculous you haven't solved this yet.

I got the same issue since the last update, only it's not just that, a lot of things have actually broken - I have to restart PS virtually every 20 min or so, because of the erratic behaviors. Mostly I get:

- When trying to resize an object, the view shifts ever so slightly, with every resize (or any other transform action, skew, warp, etc) it shifts a bit, usually to the left, if I keep resizing without hitting Enter it'll eventually drive my object out of the view;

- Randomly I can't group objects, nor mask them, the buttons appear as for the others, like on hover but inactive;

- When trying to select parts of an object with the Marquee tool it randomly selects  a huge area, always linked to one of the sides of the artboard, however that does not happen with the Lasso tools
