Same problem here. I especially observed it with larger files (around 1gb) in the hue/saturation window and it is really annoying since I cannot downgrade PS anymore.
This issue is not fixed - if anything the problem is worse. Especially prevalent when working with 16-bit images. It takes up to 2 seconds to respond to me dragging a point in a curve adjustment layer. Well annoying, this rip-off subscription model when you break things in the next iteration.
Just to show how bad this problem is - this is an 8-bit greyscale image, a simpler file is hard to find. Look at the curves lag on this. I'm operating this on a 3.8Ghz 8-Core i7 with 32GB of RAM running Big Sur on a Mac. So I do not lack power. I do this stuff for 8-9 hours a day everyday for 25 years and Photoshop has never been this bad. Bloody annoying.
Sorry to hear this is still an issu because we have been working in this area and have seen improvement in all platforms, there is obviousy something specific that we are missing.

Here is what I see on a Mac Book with Big Sur... if there is something that might help reproduce the problem with this test let us know. The behavior is the same for me whether it is the dialog Curves or Adjustment Layer Curves.
there is nothing specific. The Adjustment layers are working slower and slower with each new version. It is like this since at least version 20.x.x. But now it is really very annoying. You can see how many users are complaining here. I'm sure that for most users doing small adjustments on small images everything is very smooth. Bot for some of us, working every day with large files and compositions is a completely different situation. I am working on a standard configuration Mac Pro with 192GB Ram! It should work just fine, but it isn't. It is just unbearable! I can send you some of my Files and you can look at them closely. Your team should have at least one Mac Pro with a similar configuration. That way you can test it more closely. I'm ready to help and to get in touch with you and your team. They were not able even to reproduce the issue for over a year, because the manager was writing here that they have fix and after two months (!) they released the fix which was not fix at all. I was thinking Adobe is a good company because I enjoyed Lightroom for long time and I was thinking they are doing good things to the world but this issue changed my view of Adobe completely. They take our money each money and just don't care abotu quality at all. Very sad 😞
How many people are running Wacoms? I wonder if there is a conflict between the Wacom driver and photoshop - is that something that could be looked at? I know there's been conflicts in the past.
I am running Wacom however, because this issue is for over a year and I was hard drive crash in the meantime I tested this issue on fresh Windows without Wacom installed and it was still there. Of course it was few months ago so it wasn't last version of PS.
I do not believe it has anything to do with Wacom or their drivers. In most cases it seems to happen when zoomed in on the document. We are looking at the issue.
@Daniel Presedothis issue happens only on zoomed in image or zoomed out but very zoomed out, there is no problem with standard view (ctrl+0) or little zommed out
When I was trying to find the problem I found that it is not easy to reproduce the issue in PS itself without any loaded image, I mean when you open new document, paint something and then try to zoom in, it doesn't happen
I was also trying to copy exact layer stack from image to image and it wasn't so obvious, I mean sometimes the same layer stack caused slowdown sometimes not
However, when I use Lightroom and open my d750 RAW image in PS and then I start using my standard layers like color balance, selective color, curves, then paint on mask I always see this issue on just few layers
I assume image is stored differently when there is some content in it than just empty image with some simple painting on it, so it may be related to some memory issue, something is working slowly and then each adjustement is extremely slow, it's not related to curves, it happens with probably all adjustement layers
issue was instroduced in Photoshop 2021 (more than year ago), last working correctly version was Photoshop 2020 (21.x)
I did kind of fix it - not as smooth as it was back before v21.03 but just about usable, by disabling native canvas. It is a bit of a nightmare though because my core workflow is big, many-layer files with many adjustment layers. There was some indication that the GPU code was rebuilt around this point (which disabling native canvas seeming to improve things also sort of point to). There's some videos on the thread above showing the difference between versions.
I do have wacom but have tested without (and without the software/drivers installed too). That causes some nasty issues with Windows Ink but that seems to be an unrelated bug that's largely alleviate by using the wintab stylus override.
I saw your video tested with Single layer image and I'm honestly disappointed that the development team set this up and tested this problem.
We've been using Photoshop for more than 20 years because it's the only tool that can create something from nothing through the numerous layers and mask blending options that only Photoshop can handle.
This is not a working environment for simple calibration of one or two pictures. In my case, there are more than 100 layers per PSD file on average, and masks are applied to each layer, and I am working on creating images through various blending options. File capacity is often as low as 200mb to 1.7G.
But I think there are a lot of problems in this situation where developers are testing to solve the problem, and there is no problem when they adjust the curve value to the image of a single layer.

Still there, no change, been two updates. I guess when a company makes an obscene 1.2 billion a month in revenue due to all us saps getting subscriptions, they no longer have to make sure their software works. We're just unpaid beta-testers now. Every video editor I know is switching away from AE and Premiere to Da Vinci and Fusion because of the egregious bugs in those applications now. Like, they are literally unsuable for professional work. I think the same will happen with Photoshop soon and only the people who use it to crop a portrait picture for instagram will be left. We're looking at switching to the Affinity series of applications as this is just unbareable. I remember when Adobe gave a sh*t about their customers and not their shareholders. I also remember what happened to Quark Xpress when they started to sh*t on their customers.
Bumping this thread again as the issue is still persisting and grinding my workflow to halt whenever I work with basic adjustment layers while zoomed in. Is there any update on this @Daniel Presedo ?
