P: White squares/Boxes appear

I have been having this annoying problem for several weeks now. None of the solutions on the internet work at all. If this is your first time reading about this problem, these are the solutions I've seen so far (none of them is a real solution, each one causes other problems):

- Uncheck "Use graphics processor" in the performance tab in configuration. Result: It disables the rotating canvas features for Wacom tablets after a couple of minutes or just instantly.

- Check "Deactivate native canvas" and/or "Older GPU Mode (pre 2016)" in technology previews tab. Result: It becomes absurdly lagged, it is useless to work, just moving the canvas makes it go at 1fps.

I also have all my drivers updated (GPU, Windows, Wacom), PS updated, and with priority for the GPU. Is there any real solution for this? I have an RTX 3080 8 GB. This should not happen.

Whenever I try to move a object in the frame or use the brush tool it turns in to a white square and makes impossible to work or view anything in the artboard.

Already checked the "Disable Native Canvas";

Tried the "Use Older GPU Mode (2016)", but if I check the file doesn't even open due to error;

I think im out of options here, but anyways, here's my setup:

April 2024 and the issue has still not be fixed. White blocks when drawing or sketching. I can't disable GPU acceleration cause it lags the whole program and disabling Native Canvas makes Photoshop unusable. Yes I have contacted support, yes an engineer has connected to my PC but all they did was waste time by going back to older versions where the bug persisted. This is completely outrageous and makes the whole drawing aspect unusable.

Nope I did all of these nothing helped. But here is what I found. If I set the artboard background to transparent the problem is gone... I don't know why but this worked. Tested black and custom color still problem! But transparent seems to work great!

Hi,

I have the same problem when moving any element but not in the brush tool. The areas I move are filled with white boxes. When I select the older gpu option, the problem is solved, but Photoshop slows down a lot. Zoom animation or even just moving an element gets stuck. At least there is a noticeable feeling of lag.

I have rtx 4060 and amd 5600x.

You're a legend! Disabling artboards for me seems to have fixed the problem when nothing else would.

What worked for me was preferences/performance, under advanced settings in the GPU settings deactivate GPU compositing. Every other solution in this thread broke photoshop for me. Using a RTX 2060 with updated drivers.

Hi!

We're having a weird bug here at the office.

After we're done editing a photo, we use an action to save our picture to 2 different servers.

The action MERGE, then SAVE at place 1 and then SAVE at place 2. and then CLOSE.

We observed that sometime, the saved photo on both of the server had this issue where there was

white squares and weird colored squares in the picture. We then find out that it happen in the process of merging the photo.

Our solution for now is to remove "close" in the action. If we see that the bug happen,

we go back in history before the merge and then roll back te action and it's ok on the second try.

Do you have any idea why this happen? It's happening on at least 2 computers here and some days are worst than others.

We mostly use spot removal and remove tool. It seems to have started a few month ago.

Any of you have had the same issue and would have a solution for us? Thank you.

We taught about that in the beginning too but it really does that issue after merging. We saw that the issue was the same on server 1 and server 2 so it felt like the images were corrupted before being save anywherewhere. That's why we started to look at the files before closing and saw that the issue happen right after the merge. After some research this morning, I turned off GPU compositing in Performance=>Advanced settings and so far so good. I will update if it stops for a few days/weeks.

Je recontre un petit problème d'affichage en utilisant Photoshop. Celà me ralentit enormément dans mon utilisation du logiciel.

Lorsque que je dessine avec l'outil pinceau, je me retrouve souvent face à ça :

Seul solution que j'ai trouver pour remedier à ce soucis, activé et desactivé l'affiche d'un calque.

Parfois même celà se produit pendant que je dessine m'empêchant carément de voir se que je fait.

J'ai eu beau cherché divers solutions je ne toruve rien qui arrive a m'extraire de ce soucis, d'où ce petit appel à l'aide que je lance.

J'espère que vous ou moi saurez trouver la clé du problème.

So you did turn off the GPU processing / compositing thing? This was a while back now, but I belive that's what I did and it worked.
