(2024) the file is locked, you don't have the necessary access permissions...

Hi everyone! I need help. Photoshop won't let me open some of my files that I could open yesterday. It doesn't happen with all of them, just with the ones I started working on yesterday.

The message «Could not open "xxxx.psd" because the file is locked, you don't have the necessary access permissions, or another program is using the file».

I've tried the old tips listed in this same community:

- AVAST: List of allowed applications (I don't have any blocked).

I've also disabled shields. It doesn't work either.
- FILE: Properties > Attributes (I didn't have "read only" or "attributes" checked)

The same thing happens to me with Photoshop BETA

I'd appreciate if someone could help me ❤️

@izaskun5C7E Im guessing from the message these files are stored externally either on a server or external HD?

Hi, @Kevin Stohlmeyer

Nop. The files are on the internal disk (D) in a folder with other similar ones that I can open.

So some files are locked and some are opening without issue? Have you recently had an app crash? Are you running as administrator on your Windows account?

Hey, @AxelMatt

Yes, I have. But nothing changes.
