After updating Photoshop, my EPS files are automatically opened up before I can resize them. It was working fine before then. I'm on a macOS Big Sur 11.4
Other computer specs:
Processor: 2.6 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7
RAM: 16 GB 2667 MHz DDR4
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon Pro 5300M 4 GB
Is this a bug in the new update or am I doing something improperly with the latest update?

Hi all,
We're sorry about the trouble with Photoshop 22.4.3 while trying to open EPS files. We have logged this issue as a bug & they are working on a fix.
For now, you can try the below mentioned steps as a workaround to check if that helps:
In the Open dialog, select the file and change the "Format:" option to "Generic EPS".
Hope this helps!
Regards,
Nikunj

Hi all,
meanwhile I found another workaround for myself so far.
Most of the .EPS files I have to work with, I usally create in Illustrator, now I tested to save them as .SVG and in photshop appears the old dialog 🙂
I hope it could help you, too!
bye

HI all,
The workaround in Open dialog, changing the file format option to Generic EPS didn't correct the issue.
We are having similar issues with "DCS" .eps files and found using the Open dialog, we changed the file format option to the "Photoshop DCS 2.0" which is the format the original file was saved as, this opened our files as it was last saved.
Hope this actually helps!
Regards,
SPD Mfg.

I hope you're able to fix this bug asap. Super frustrating having to open EPS files this way.

I have tried this multiple times - same thing. It is not working. I and apparently the thousand people reading this need it to work. I am not being difficult. We all pay about $50 a month to be able to access these programs. We are not paying for a flaw, workaround, or whatever you want to call it that is not working the same for everyone.
WE NEED IT FIXED.

Hi, I just upgraded and now I can't open .eps files that contain channels in photoshop. This is version 22.4.3
It also has an odd side effect of making my mouse pointer get stuck in the lower left hand corner of my screen, and it takes a while to get it unstuck.
Now when I downgrade to version 22.4.2 all these issues go away. The .eps file channels open up no problem, and the mouse cursor issue goes away.
Do you think this is a settings issue, or is it a major bug with version 22.4.3?

Hello! I used to be able to open EPS/AI files in Photoshop (rasterized) and now I can't anymore. Did that change with a new update?
Please help, this is infuriating if I have to buy stupid Illustrator now, too.

I used to open an EPS with Photoshop and it would say "How Big?" Now NOTHING. It opens in the smallest, blurriest, image and isn't good for anything. I have tried Place Linked and other fixes but nothing.
I like many here are getting sick of this update after update and where did my features go crap!

Hi @tracies
Does your Layers panel also show one layer called Index? If so, this has been reported in several threads. See:

Hello,
I've just updated Photoshop and now when I place/open an EPS file, it has a white solid background when it was/should be transparent.
If I save the EPS as an AI and place/open it, it comes in properly with a transparent background.
Has anyone else experienced this or know what has changed?

Since the update tonight, all of my EPS files are automatically converting to index with a white background in Photoshop. I'm not happy about it either. I had ONE more file to create.

Yes, I forgot to mention that they are converting to Index as well, it's a bit frustrating. Is there a way to flag a post for Adobe staff to notice?

I'm experiencing this as well as of today! incredibly annoying as all the logos are .eps and have worked perfectly until now. Dont want to have to re-save/re-work files that are already fine as they are

I’m having the same issue. The EPS has a white background and won’t scale when resized. For now, I’ve been saving my EPS as an AI file and placing it that way.

This is really annoying and will eat a ton of time if I have re-save every EPS as an AI

Same as everyone else. So no workaround other than going backwards on the software? Have to figure out how to do that now.
