Hi, everyone! My name is Arthur,

and I am trying to turn the Artboard feature off. I can't find a way to do that. Could you help me to turn the Artboards off?

Thanks

Yep select all your layers in the layers panel and move them above the artboard then select the artboard and hit delete.

Turn off the automatic artboards feature - looking in prefs there is no way that is obvious. Who's the wise guy thinking this was a needed automatic feature?

The Artboard option should be off by default. I wonder who was the IQ champion thinking that it's necessary for all projects. Getting rid of it on case by case basis is cumbersome and annoying. We should be able to turn this dumb feature off in the preferences.

Hi I just saw this, and I think the answer you are may be looking for is

How to turn off artboards on new documents, rather than having to delete an already existing one.

  1. For new documents, you can select "Photo" as the "Document Type" (note I use the "legacy" new document dialog)

  2. Set your dimensions, resolution, color mode and depth, background contents, etc. The "Document Type" will change to "Custom", but the document type will still be a Photo.

  3. I recommend to click "Save Preset…" and name the preset to keep it handy.

  4. Click OK and your new document will not have an artboard.
