Hello! I'm trying to solve a printing issue where Photoshop crashes every time I try to print. I currently have Photoshop CS5 Extended version 12.0 x64 and I'm running MacOS High Sierra 10.13.6 on a Macbook Pro. I saw a post here that updating to version 12.0.4 might resolve the issue, but the link on that page was dead. I also found another post with an updated link in the comments, but that one didn't work either (it brought me to an FTP that gave an error message: There was a problem connecting to the server "ftp.adobe.com". The share does not exist on the server. Please check the share name, and then try again.)
I spoke to several Adobe representatives, but none of them were able to provide me with a link to the update so they recommended I post here.
Does anyone have a link to Photoshop CS5 version 12.0.4 for Mac?
Thanks,
Matt
Sometimes you have to try Connect To Server several times or maybe another time of the day, but it should eventually connect and then drag the AdobePhotoshop12-4-mul-AdobeUpdate.dmg to your desktop.
Also use Connect As>Guest
To install the 12.0.4 update you may have to use the procedure listed here under
Creative Suite 5.5, 5, and 4

Unfortunately there isn't a link to the update. Adobe customer care would be the only option but CS6 is the earliest supported version.
Be careful of direct messages offering a link it could be something more than just software.

Thank you SO much! Although I had tried connecting to the FTP as a guest before unsecessfully, it worked this time. I followed the steps to install 12.0.4 and now Photoshop prints without crashing! You're a lifesaver.

Hello! I'm trying to solve a printing issue where Photoshop crashes every time I try to print.
Start here:
Quit Photoshop if running.
Relaunch Photoshop and open the file that you want to print.
Press the Spacebar on your keyboard before you click File > Print. This process resets printer preferences that have been written into the image.
See: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-printing-problems.html
If that still crashes, try this:
Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) immediately after launching Photoshop. You will be prompted to delete the current settings.
Still crashing?

Thanks for the suggestions. Fortunately I was able to update to version 12.0.4, which fixed the problem, before I could try these tips in version 12.0

Hi, where did you find the update program? I also have 12.0 and can't find the update anywhere. I have a version of 12.0.4 on one of my computers but need to upgrade a new install I did with the official installation dvd.

@Merijn34712683gdxg this thread is 3 years old and unfortunately CS5 is no longer available anywhere and can no longer be activated. There are no updates available.

unfortunately CS5 ... can no longer be activated.
By @Kevin Stohlmeyer
The activation servers for CS5, CS5.5, and CS6 have not been shut down (yet) and these apps can still be activated.
The caveat is that Adobe does not reset activations, so these apps need to be deactivated and at least one of the two activations needs to be available.

@jane-e https://community.adobe.com/t5/download-install-discussions/adobe-cs-5-5-deaktivieren-und-aktivieren... There seems to be some confusion as to what servers are available for activation. There are a lot of posts/threads since Dec 2024 indicating they cannot activate even with valid activation counts. The last I heard from Adobe was they were rolling down and it appears Adobe Support posted the same here. Looks like Jeff still says they are active, but these users would disagree.
