when attempting to open a photo in Photoshop on my HP Laptop, details below, the photo appears in the layers tab bottom right, but not in the workspace /desktop: It is a constant Black / White strobe. The desktop /workspace flashes Black and white

Ich habe Adobe Photoshop ca. 20 Jahre lang genutzt und war zufrieden damit. Photoshop funktioniert nun leider nicht mehr. Ich will Photoshop auf meinem PC nutzen, vorerst ohne cloud und all den unnötigen Firlefanz, den ich nicht benötige.

Wenn sich das Programm öffnen läßt, dauert es ca. 5 Minuten . Das Fenster, in dem man das zu bearbeitende Foto sehen sollte, ist schwarz, oder blinkt schwarz/weiß. Updates über creativ cloud dauern ewig, dann funktioniert wieder was anderes nicht. Warum?! Was ist passiert mit ADOBE?!

Sounds like your using the latest photoshop cc version, not photoshop cs6.

In photoshop go to Edit>Preferences > Technology Previews and check Disable Native Canvas, then restart Photoshop

Hallo, bei mir flackert das Photoshop Dokument einfach schwarzweiß die ganze Zeit. Ich kann das neue Dokument nicht sehen und auch wenn ich ein Bild öffnen möchte, flackert es nur schwarzweiß vor sich hin. Ich habe den Grafiktreiber schon aktualisiert und es steht auch als "GPU ist kompatibel" in der Photoshop Hilfe alles richtig da. (grüne Häkchen überall) Was kann ich noch tun?

Black and white flickering when opening images or starting new documents is a known issue. Here's the solution from https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/known-issues.html:

As a workaround, follow the steps below:

1. Enable the Older GPU Mode option in Preferences > Technology Previews > “Use Older GPU Mode (pre 2016)”
2. If you are still having trouble, try enabling the Deactivate Native Canvas option in Technology Previews.

Your PC is seriously under powered to run Photoshop, you really need to consider purchasing a new PC, your current system is 10 years old.

Go to Edit > Preferences > Technology Previews and enable this option, then restart Photoshop, this may or may not work for you.

I've just updated to Photoshp 24.3 and now, when I try to open a file I get a horrible flashing white screen although all the layers are showing on the right hand side I can't see them in the main part of the screen, just the white flashing light. Just as well I'm not epileptic because it almost like a strobe light.  Anyone know a fix for this that's not technical please?  

P.S. I'm on Windows 11.

Issues like that are usually related to the GPU driver, have you try updating that from the manufacturers website.

Edit: seems you're not the only one with the issue.

Thanks for the reply Ged.  My GPU driver is up to date but I've just disabled it in Photoshop and the flashing has stopped.  Thanks very much for your help 🙂

Instead of checking "Deactivate Native Canvas" you can instead check "Enable GPU mode (pre 2016)" at the end of Technology Previews list, then restart PS. This also solved the issue for me and does not seem to cause any adverse performance issues. If my findings change I will post an update accordingly.
