Photoshop update to v24.2 fails on my M2 Mac mini and then corrupts my currently installed version (it does not open and displays error saying elements of the app are missing). I had to reinstall v24.1.

Can confirm. The installation of 14.2 as well as the upgrade von 14.1.1 to 14.2 failed on my mac mini m2 running ventura 13.2.1 until i installed rosetta 2.

Sad to see adobe is not able to publish apps for a plattform that they got the ability to work on since summer of 2020. I think that Apple needs to end Rosetta 2 support at some point (from big sur over ventura to the upcoming versions) so that companys dont get away with this.

I have followed the instructions on your link to try and send you the installer log but there isn't a 'AdobeDownload' directory: /Users/<user name>/Library/Logs/AdobeDownload/

@CShubert  Sorry the log collector tool is also asking for install of Rosetta (including the silicon version), not something I want to do.

Hello,

I also had this update problem today and also got the error code 183. The previous version ran without problems until today's update.

Why does the update suddenly stop working?

How can I solve the problem and install the latest update?

or should I reinstall the previous version?

I am running the following without a problem...

  • Photoshop 24.2.0
  • Ventura 13.2
  • MacBook Pro M2 Max

Our versions of Ventura differ slightly. Could be something worth exploring?

Very unpleasant!! No way to get the green checkmark. It installs and works but CC is showing error.

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with this and Rosetta.... which I refuse to install. And why now? 😞

I have exactly the same problem.  Upgraded to Ventura yesterday and Photoshop refuses to download.  I did a clean install so I can't go back to the previous copy.

RunProgramCommand' for package: 'AdobePhotoshop24-Core', version:24.2.0.315

FATAL: Error occurred in install of package (Name: AdobePhotoshop24-Core Version: 24.2.0.315). Error code: '183'

and 13 warnings.  This is really ludicrous.......do we have to download and install Rosetta2 before it works.  I need this programme NOW!

@CShubert  - I'm getting the feeling that Adobe isn't going to fix this anytime soon.  There's a lot of Apple Silicon users - like me - that are thinking it's time to dump Adobe because of their continued coding problems.  Part of the problem is Adobe's use of Lua IMHO.  I wonder if a class action lawsuit might wake Adobe up.

Against who - Apple, for changing all the rules everybody else has to play by, every six months? That might be easier to win 😄

This isn't an Apple issue. It's a bad coding and quality control problem that Adobe created. I'm no fan of class action lawsuits. Only the liars… I mean lawyers win

It's well-known within the software development community that Lua tends to be a bit of a resource, pig and problematic when it comes to software development. Just my personal opinion Dash I think it's time for Adobe to look to a more current coding platform for all of their products.
