Photoshop not recognising my graphics processor [Locked, duplicate thread]

I get a bad message when I open Photoshop (latest update) and cannot access the graphic processing functionality (seriously painful). There seems to be a lot of people on the internet with similar problems and a lot of varied advice. I don't know what to do about it. I don't want to download incompatible processing cards or the like. Does anyone have some advce - especially if you've had a similar experience. I haven't used PS for about two years so have probably skipped some stages with the struggles that seem to result from each new version. I didn't have any problems using PS in teh past. My laptop is an ASUS and has an Intel HD Graphics 3000 system (dated 19 May 2106). Everything is up to date as of today's date. The message I get in PS is as follows:

You have an old laptop that is underpowered for current versions of Photoshop. You'll want to start looking at replacing that computer to use modern graphics software.

@Tracie24733778xthz to be short - your 2012 Intel HD 3000 does not meet minimum Photoshop specs at all.

It only supports DirectX11, the speed is only 335 Ops/Sec (recommended min is 2,000) and it does not support enough VRAM.

You need a new graphics card to use Photoshop effectively.
