When i'm trying to use the text tool I get the 'Selected font failed during last operation' message.
How can i fix this?
What do you do though, if this font is used in 100's or 1000's of projects?
Also... I'm getting this error on many fonts.
Excellent !.. Worked for me .. Thanks
Thanks a lot!
TO FIX THIS ISSUE GO TO
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2017\Required\typesupport
DELETE THE (FntNames DATABASE FILE)
THIS WILL ALLOW YOU TO START TYPING AGAIN 🙂
THIS IS FOR THE 2017 VERSION
I followed your instructions and problem is still not fixed. Please help !
Inside the Required folder is the Typesupport folder where the Fntnames.db file is.
Thanks but it didn't work for me, still getting the error on every installed font. Need to add some text to an image and I can't, it's so frustrating!
I did every step.... still not working HELP pleaseeeeeee
It's worked. Thanks.
Tried this, now Photoshop will not launch.
Somewhere along the line of doing the following I managed to fix the issue:
Reset Windows font defaults (hit start button and then type 'change font settings'), click Restore default font settings.
That didn't appear to work so I then un-installed Photoshop and re-installed it.
When that didn't seem to work I decided on a restart which then cured it for me.
Thank you so much for your help -- it worked!
Thanks! This fixed my problem.
The same problem after update Windows 10, the last big update month ago and than the update from Adobe photoshop not the last, one before. Need to reset w10 font delete font database, restart. Uninstall and install font i need and than i can work with it. But after i open some older file with this font the problem i again here....
You're a lifesaver.
My IT guy had no answer to this issue, then I looked this up.
I have windows 10 followed the sequence for finding the CT font cach it worked, God bless you
I experienced this bug as well. My solution was:
Navigate in your Windows Explorer to the following folder:
This PC > OS (C:) > User / Nutzer > [your name] > AppData > Roaming > Adobe > Adobe Photoshop CC 2017 > CT Font Cache
Save the contents in a folder of your choice (I recommend in your usual backup folder). Then delete it completely (also in your recycle bin). Shutdown your computer - wait for at least 10 seconds. Reboot. That's it.
Hope, this works for you as well. If not: restart with ressurection of the saved file from the backup and try one of the other ways mentioned above.
Have a nice day and good succes.
This doesn't work. Still getting message. HELP!!!
Thank you so much....It worked for me by deleting permanently "CT Font Cache" folder.
All solution not working!
it is not use to uninstall and install again photoshop CC
I'm so stressful... the best solution is let's unsubscribe CC plan and go back to Photoshop CS5!
Worked for me also - thanks!
Windows 10 Creator's update, Photoshop CC 2017.1.1
I deleted the above CT Font Cache folder with no success. In fact it was so annoying that Photoshop completely froze up solid twice (which is a bit unusual nowadays). I eventually had to take a chance and delete the other cache folder named FontFeatureCache since I had nothing to lose, but the prospect of a fresh install.
That was successful.
I keep having this problem too - above solution works but would like a permanent solution!!
I'm on Windows 10 using Photoshop CC 2017 (latest version).
You are awesome!!! Thanks a lot my friend. 100% WORKING!!!
After that, I tried this, and thanks God I found how to clear photoshop's font cache:
TADA, it's working now.
Hope it helps
another way I solved this problem is to reinstall the fonts. It worked for me.
