ESTK relates to scripting functions. As to why it randomly opens remains unclear without any details like actual system information and what you do at the times when it pops up. That said, chances are this is a fluke caused by some security stuff in Windows perceiving those script functions as malicious or considering your old software a risk. You may be able to improve behavior by checking the program's compatibility settings.

I got hold of someone at Adobe, if you can believe that.
He found the file which from memory was under C/programs/x86 and deleted it that way. He said it wasn't needed for Photoshop and he was unsure why it suddenly appeared even in my list of apps in Win10, let alone it opening here and there all on its own.
So it's deleted and problem solved.

did you install a pirated version of Photoshop? That's probably how it got there.

Thats what I was wondering, since he mentioned CS5

No, it's not pirated. Adobe wouldn't have helped me if it had been.

In fact, Adobe normally wouldn't have helped at all even if it was pirated or legit. I was lucky they helped at all. They probably fired that guy for being helpful.

With photoshop versions cs2 thru cs6 the Adobe ExtendScript Toolkit would automatically install
along with photoshop. bridge and extension manager.

Well I didn't mind it INSTALLING, I just didn't want opening whenever it felt like it.

I have the same problem on my Mac. I reach out to Adobe support and they said it is not possible. It truly looks like they want to force users to use it. I'm not using Bridge and I won't. I want Adobe to fix this.

@blazejs64784241 As @Jeff Arola said ExtendScript Toolkit in earlier versions automatically installed as it was necessary for the applications. Bridge however is not required it just automatically installed. You can still remove it after the fact if you dislike it so much.
Adobe will not adjust the install process for old software packages. Current software installs can be controlled with the Creative Cloud desktop app.

For some reason, my app does not work or respond. I can't launch it. The other thing is that support has been working on my computer remotely and disconnected Bridge. I never download it, and it still downloads on its own it is very annoying when I work on PS, and it just launches. It keeps doing that constantly. Adobe is a big corporation. What do they care? There is no reasonable alternative for PS.

Problem now solved. I don't know how, but it stopped doing that. Thank you for all your replies.
