I use Smart Objects extensively as I edit photos, since it gives an incredible degree of flexibility. Smart filters mean that I can always go back and don’t damage the pixels in my images.

Muchas gracias.

Hi @Sheila Puig

Smart objects are placed as unlinked raster layers (currently) in Photoshop for iPad.

Since your question is about Photoshop for iPad, I have moved this from the Photoshop forum where you posted to PS for Mobile.

Hello ! A short message to ask if the "Smart Object" function is available on Photoshop iPad, to be able to manage mockups. If so, how do you use it?

Smart Objects is one of the many Photoshop desktop features that is not yet in the iPad version. But if you tap New and Upcoming Features on the Photoshop home screen, in the What’s Coming section it tells you that Smart Objects is one of the features they are working on. We do not know when that will be released, but at least we know it’s on their list.

Hi @talented_Palette5CF7

No, not yet, but the alert on my iPad says it's being worked on by Adobe.

It is great that Smart Objects are now available in Photoshop for iPad! There is one catch though... In Photoshop on the desktop, you can combine multiple layers into a new Smart Object. Essentially you have nested Smart Objects. Currently there is no way to open and edit these Smart Objects. Moreover, if I try to open one, it says that it will convert it to a layer and I'll lose everything in the Smart Object. You made great strides in supporting Smart Objects, so I hope and believe you can complete full support!

We are already close to 2023 and still no usable smart objects function for iPad. Will this ever work? For me Photoshop for iPad is useless until this works...
