Simple task need very long ways

Adobe Photoshop

1. Complex Task Simplification: Basic tasks like cropping an object require unnecessarily long steps. For example, to crop an object, I have to use the selection tool, press Ctrl+J, then delete the original layer. This process could be streamlined.
2. Background Removal: The “Remove Background” feature works well with people but struggles with objects. Online tools like BGremover perform better. It would be great if Adobe’s tool could match this accuracy.
3. Magic Fill: While Magic Fill works better in Firefly, in Photoshop, it’s quite poor and needs significant improvement.
4. Dragging and Dropping Objects: Resizing objects to fit the frame when dragging and dropping is cumbersome. Using Shift+Drag is not intuitive. There should be a “Fit to Frame” or “Fill Frame” option with a single click.
5. Drawing Tool: A freehand pen tool similar to the one in MS Paint would be a useful addition, allowing more intuitive drawing options.
6. Prompt to Save Location: Photoshop should prompt for the project save location before starting, just as Premiere Pro does.

Why don't you use the crop tool?

Automatic functions will never work perfectly in all situations. Sometimes you need to put in a bit of work.

As for the fitting of smart objects, that function already exists for downscaling oversized smart objects. Upscaling is a different matter. That should never be automatic, but a deliberate decision by the user. Upscaling generally destroys image quality.

1. "Objects" are really a limited, specific thing in Photoshop, unlike an application like Illustrator. I don't understand why you are deleting layers to crop?

2. Automated background tools vary in how well they work, and are honestly more of a consumer-level feature. There are numerous ways to get a good selection if needed.

3. Many of us don't use AI at all, its a brand new implementation and will presumably improve in the future.

4. There are multiple options for fitting pasted or placed items. Pros want control over the process.

5. Photoshop is not really a drawing program, but the various path tools are pretty good. If you need more flexibility, Illustrator or a another bespoke drawing app is available.

6. No. Some of us DON'T have that kind of workflow. If you want to specify a save location at the start, command-S. Easy.
