adobe update error message

Could you try the below steps and see if it resolves the problem:

1. Go to folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Desktop Common\HDBox
2. There is an exe named 'Setup.exe' and 'Set-up.exe'
3. Launch both the exe files manually and see if it launches or not?
4. If both EXE file launches fine, now try to update the application using the update button in PSE editor.

In case if the EXE fails to launch in Step 3 above, Please uninstall the product and install using the installer available here, it will install the latest available updates automatically and your application will be up to date.

It does not work to use the exe files. So went to uninstall photoshop
elements 2021 and it is not listed by itself but part of creative cloud. Do
I uninstall Adobe Creative Cloud? I have tried that before and it has not
been successful. Peg

Photoshop Elements is not a part of the Creative Cloud. In case if Photoshop Elements is not listed as part of the installed list of products in control panel, that could mean that the installation was not complete last time and it was in a corrupt state.

I would recommend you to follow the below steps:

1. Reinstall Photoshop Elements using installer: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/photoshop-elements-downloads.html

2. Reinstalling will install the corrupted components again. Now please check if you can see Photoshop Elements in Control panel and uninstall from there.

3. Uninstall Creative Cloud also.

4. Now agin use the same installer from Step 1 above to install Photoshop Elements, this should solve the problem.

Okay I reinstalled Photoshop Elements 2021 and it still does not show up in
the programs listing. Although I have it on my pc. I also have and still
use version elements 10 and 14 which show up in the list of programs. I
still do not have 2021 show up. If I try to uninstall creative cloud it
tells me that it cannot be uninstalled because I have programs using it.

This is such a mess. I can uninstall creative cloud using the installer
from website. It will be gone. I still cannot find Photoshop Elements 2021
in my installed programs. When I try to reinstall it. It brings back
creative cloud once again and now sits adobe photoshop workspace and the
program does not open. Peg

Hi Peg,

Do you also have any other Adobe app installed on your computer apart from PSE 2021 and CCD? 

Also, Are you using the installer available here?
