Display problem: drop-down menu with no icon and inactive

Hi,

I have a problem with photoshop elements 9, with windows 10.

The problem is the following: when I open photoshop, most of the lines of the drop-down menus are inactive with no icons (see the screenshot attached). Note that not everything is not working: I can use the tools on the left-hand bar as usual for example (reframe etc.).

Any idea of the problem? The problem appeared around three weeks ago, without any special action from my side. I installed the two updates available on photoshop webpage, but the problem remains.

Thank you very much in advance,

Georges

EDIT: I found this thread : PSE 11 not working after Windows 10 update , that seems to describe a similar problem as mine, but the solution (rebooting) does not work for me.

Hi georgesf,

Thanks for posting in Adobe Forum.

I understand you are facing issue with Adobe Photoshop Elements in Windows 10.

Microsoft has released a new Windows 10 update KB4016240 (Build 15063.250) that attempts to fix most of the common issues faced by users who upgraded to Windows 10 Creators Update. While no new features are being added in this update several other issues have been addressed.

Hope this helps.

Thanks

Regards

Dhananjay

Once the update is installed (as instructed by Dhananjay), please clear preferences once. To do that, keep Ctrl + Alt + Shift keys pressed while launching Editor.

You will be asked to delete settings file. Say yes.

Thanks,

Anwesha
