Elements 2024 Delete Media Fails

Photoshop Elements 2024 (Windows 10)  - I select a photo to be deleted, click on "Delete Media,  get message "Selected media will be deleted in background", media not remove (deleted) from  Organizer. Sometimes I get a message "Delete selected media in backgound failed, try agan later". I went in and unmarked all the boxes Preference-Media Analysis with the same result. Has onyone experienced this delete issue or have suggestions on how to delete a photo from Organizer?

Like Frank, I've unchecked all the media analysis boxes, clicked OK and shut down the computer.  No change when I restart.  I deleted a few images one at a time and then deleted batches of 25 or so earlier today.  Some are from the  cloud, but most were not.  When opened PSE later I could not delete.  KMK

Have you tried reinstalling?

I haven't tried reinstalling yet.  I live in TN, but am temporarily in Atlanta where my wife recently had surgery.  When I get home I will probably try reinstalling PSE 24.  I'm not a techie, so am always reluctant to leap into things without being sure of my actions.  Thanks for your help.  Ken

. . .  To determine whether the files have been synched with the Cloud, try using the new filter available in Elements 2024:

When you delete a synched file, you will get the following message (which is what you described):

To force the deletion to occur, click on the Synch Now button:

@frankn93252344, I don't know whether you marked my reply as correct by mistake, but it seems that your problem has not been solved, so I have unmarked the answer as correct.  I now think that the problem is related to files being synched with the Cloud in Elements 2024.  Can you confirm whether the files you are trying to delete are synched with your Elements Cloud account?  See if this Article helps you.

I've never seen that message displayed before.  How many photos are you trying to delete at a time?  Have you just imported or edited some photos?  Have you rebooted before attempting to delete the photos?

You can try going to Edit>Preferences>Media Analysis and uncheck all the boxes.  Relaunch and/or reboot your computer and try to delete again.

Or, if you intend to delete the photo files from your hard drive, do so in Windows File Explorer and then delete the missing files in the Organizer.

Thank you for your reply. I've tried multiple photos, a single photo, cleared all the check marks in Media Analysis, restarted Elements and rebooted my system with no sucess.  The only thing didn't do is reload Elments 2024.
