how do i save my custom made brushes in elements 2022

I am trying to save my custom made brushes in elements 2022, i know how to save brushes, but when i come to use them i cant find them in the brush tool under default. and they are not to be found any where on my computer or photoshop files. I hope some one out there can help me. Not sure where i am going wrong with it. i cut and paste the brush i have made in black and white, as you are suppose to do and then save brush in defind brush with a new name, i can then use it on other photos /white page. and it is save in default, but if i then change to a diffent brush , the brush i made has gone for good? and nowhere to be found. hope this make sense.

Hi Glenn, thanks for coming back so fast. The file you are talking about C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\20.0\Presets\Brush sets don't have any brushes in it, i checked it out when i was looking for my old downloaded brushes( which i have managed to save and add to my brush library.) but as i say the custom made ones are not to be found anywhere on my computer HP pavilion micosoft.

You will put brush sets into that folder I discussed- it's empty til lyou put something in there.

Custom defined brushes (such as one showing ytour signature) get saved into the brushset that was open at the time you defined the brush.

    They get saved into what ever bush set you had open / selected at the time you made it.

    THE FOLLOWING IS THE WAY I DO IT, OTHERS WILL SUGGEST DIFFERENT METHODS.

    C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\20.0\Presets\Brush sets    It's where custom abr (brush files) go.

    Search for, on your computer,  and find any file with an ABR file extension on it.
    DUPLICATE THAT FILE.
    Rename that file-  Call it  "My custom brushes" 
    COPY THAT RENAMED ABR FILE.
    Paste it into the Brushes folder in the preset subdirectory.
    If you do all that: All you do is select that brush set "MY CUSTOM BRUSHES"  Create your brush and save into that newly copied and renamed abr file.
