Manual settings Save for WWW

I have Photoshop Elements 22. I need to optimize JPEGs for WWW. The Option FIle-> Save for Web is fine, but it stripes metadata. I will use the 'Save As' option, but I would like to ask what settings to choose in the 'Save As' dialog box to achieve a quality similar to 'Save for Web' while preserving the original JPEG size.
